  • Wide Tuning Bandwidth: The system features a wide 75 MHz bandwidth covering three Lectrosonics 25 MHz frequency blocks and providing up to 3072 total frequencies—selectable in 25 or 100 kHz tuning steps on the receiver. The wide bandwidth allows you to simultaneously operate up to 30 wireless mics on a set, while giving you added frequency flexibility in an increasingly crowded and shrinking RF spectrum.
  • Digital Hybrid Wireless Technology: The L Series combines the best aspects of digital and analog systems without using a compander, eliminating the artifacts (known as "pumping" and "breathing") created by the analog compander found in traditional wireless systems. The system encodes the audio at 24-bit/88.2 kHz and sends the information via an analog UHF wireless link. The result is pristine and nuanced digital audio along with the increased range, battery life, and reliability of analog UHF systems.
  • SmartDiversity: Microprocessor-controlled antenna phase combining is used for diversity reception. The firmware analyzes incoming RF signals at each of the receiver's two antennas and selects the cleanest one, improving range and resistance to dropouts.
  • Tracking Front-End RF Filters: The LR receiver employs tracking front-end filters to block interference from high-powered RF signals on nearby channels, preserving the operating range.
  • SmartSquelch: This DSP-based algorithm optimizes the receiver's performance for noiseless muting in very weak signal conditions.
  • DSP-Based Pilot Tone: The system uses a DSP-generated ultrasonic pilot tone at specific frequencies to reliably mute the audio when no RF carrier is present.

  • The LT features a 50 or 100mW selectable RF output option for an extended range up to 350'. The 100mW setting boost the RF output providing 15 to 20% additional range in crowded environments at the expense of only 15 to 20% of the battery life.
  • The multipurpose servo-bias TA5 audio input accepts mic- or line-level signals with a 44 dB range of gain, adjustable in 1 dB steps. It also adapts to instrument-level input for use with musical instruments, including guitars with passive pickups.
  • The detachable antenna can be substituted with a swiveling or remote antenna if required (both available separately).
  • The LT responds to remote commands from either the dedicated Lectrosonics RM remote unit or the LectroRM app for iOS/Android tablets and smartphones (both available separately).
  • The DSP-controlled, dual-envelope input limiter handles signal peaks over 30 dB above full modulation, allowing the LT to pick up loud signal peaks without distortion—even when your acting talent goes from a whisper to a shout.
  • The LT can be configured to operate as a "one-touch" device with a multifunction switch on the top panel—programmable for Mute, Power, Talkback, or Disabled.
  • Membrane switches and an LCD interface on the side panel provide full access to all operational parameters and advanced features.
  • An LED indicator on the top panel and a bar graph indicator on the LCD display allow precise gain adjustments for maximum signal-to-noise ratio and minimum distortion.

  • The back-lit, adjustable, daylight-readable LCD display shows important details at a glance, providing instant, clear information for set up and status.
  • The SmartTune function automatically scans the RF spectrum for you, making it easy to quickly find clean frequencies on location.
  • The IR sync function easily syncs the receiver with the transmitter, transferring frequency and compatibility-mode information.
  • The receiver is equipped with a SmartNR noise-reduction algorithm, which removes hiss without sacrificing the audio frequency response.
  • The two detachable antennas can be substituted with swiveling or remote antennas (both available separately).
  • The LR’s TA3 audio output jack provides user-selectable balanced or unbalanced audio, variable in 1 dB steps from mic to line level.
  • Output cables include a TA3 to XLR-M cable for XLR-equipped cameras or recording devices, and a TA3 to 3.5mm TRS cable for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
  • The included shoe adapter makes it easy to mount the LR onto a camera, with all controls readily accessible.

  • The M152 is a high-performance lavalier microphone with heavily suppressed mechanical noise for critical applications.
  • The mic’s wide, flat-frequency response is augmented by a 2 to 3 dB bump in the upper octaves to capture crisp, intelligible speech.
  • The lavalier’s omnidirectional polar pattern ensures that the sound remains consistent, even when the speaker’s head moves away from the mic.

  • Transmitter and receiver can be powered via two AA batteries or with an optional LTBATELIM battery eliminator that replaces the hinged battery door.
  • 4 hours of battery life.
  • Components are housed in rugged, machined-aluminum chassis featuring an ultra-hard, ebENi conductive finish
  • The USB port on each unit allows for easy firmware updates.
  • Adding the HMa plug-on transmitter allows you to connect any handheld microphone of your choice or a shotgun mic for wireless booming. You can even apply selectable 5/15/48V phantom for condenser mics. The unit features selectable 50/100mW RF power for extended transmission range.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the mic cable interchangeable? For instance, if you need a replacement if the original goes bad or to swap the lav mic for a headset or instrument?

A: No. The mic is affixed "permanently" to the transmitter and is not removable.

Q: 2. Smart phone spplications

A: The Lectrosonics LR Receiver can be connected to a smartphone using the included 1/8 output cable along with an optional adapter such as the Rode SC4.

Q: 3. I can see the small size and the digital membranes on both rec and trans; who would be interested in this set? What is special about this set that is not offered in other Lectro gear?

A: The new Lectrosonics L series kit is a more affordable solution for the DSLR and small video camera market. The 3 frequency bands available cover multiple blocks which allow for more flexibility in areas of use. The kit also includes all the accessories necessary to mount and connect to cameras. These would have to be purchased separately with Lectro's other series of products.

Q: 4. Yoga instructor doing pose flows and videos for youtube. Also want to use this for seated videos. How sturdy is the mic and be able to deal with twisting/bending/inversion movement, and will the unit plug into a Canon Vixia HF R40?

A: The microphone is well made and suited very well for your stated applications and camera.

Q: 5. Which countryman mic works with the transmitter. LS or LT?

A: Any mic that termnates at a TA5 female connector with work.

Q: 6. Can one transmitter sync to two receivers?

A: Yes

Q: 7. Will this work with a Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone? If not, which option is the best to achieve a pro-quality audio with that device? (both wired and wireless)

A: It might. You would need to actually try it out. We have not tested this with all smartphones. Samsung can be tricky.

Q: 8. If this is used with a 32-bit recorder such as the tascam x8 or zoom f6, will the clipping be fixable in post?

A: It is very difficult to clip a 32-bit converter, but it is still possible to overload a mic capsule if you surpass the SPL it is designed for. A 32-bit recorder won't help with this, and if you somehow do clip the ADC on the way in it won't help with that either, but it does make clipping extremely unlikely due to the amount of headroom it gives you. If you are routinely running into problems with clipping during recording, or if there is no one on hand to adjust levels on the fly, a 32-bit recorder can be a game changer.

Q: 9. Will this frequency (A1: 470.100-537.575 MHz) still be legal after FCC's spectrum auction is all done? Does this frequency require license to operate?

A: Yes! The remaining TV band will be 470-612MHZ. You can use these frequencies without a license subject to the new rules governing Un-licensed devices. If you are an un-licensed user I suggest reading the FCC document that explains what you are up a against. It's a bit too much to explain in this particular forum.

Q: 10. Does this wireless kit have the ability to search automatically for available transmission frequencies, like the SONY UWP-D11? From what I understand the Sony kit will automatically select a clear signal, even if for example the transmitter is on the subject, away from the receiver.

A: Short answer: YES! It's called Smart Tune in the setup menu. The receiver does a scan of the entire tuning range and then suggests a choice which you can accept with a button push.

[1] Still a workhorse of the wireless microphone set, this replacement microphone is the exact replacement part for you Lectrosonics wireless mic. Usually the cord fails -- and the failure is usually at the plug. These replacement mics have reinforced strain-relief where the cord comes out of the plug -- highly recommended by me!

[ 44 dB] It is a little pricey depending on your budget but I shoot a lot of football games & mic up coaches & play by play announcers. I've had a lot of problems with other mics in the past cutting out when there's a lot of people between me & the person miced up. So far this has preformed really well, not cutting out or dropping audio. I also like you can switch between power output from 50mw to 100mw. They do eat up batteries like crazy, especially outside in the cold!

[Lavalier] I'm just getting started with these after using Sennheisers for a few years. I'd had experience with Lectrosonics in the past and remembered how great they were. These are no different. Very easy to set up and use. I'm still tweaking mine some but almost perfect right out of the box. Very well built. I'm used to interference creeping in with the Sennheisers, not with these. Strong signal all the time.

[Bodypack] This is as good as it gets for a professional quality wireless system. This is the 4th system I have purchased over the years and have used Lectrosonics gear for over 15 years and have never once been disapointed in their products. The signal is always crisp and clean. They are also very flexable with well thought out menues and features. They are very rugged, have used them rain, snow, below zero temps, and above 100 degree weather. Have dropped them from over a meter with no ill effects. You just can't beat the quality, performance and reliablity.
I highly recomend this and other Lectrosonics products.
