Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will my boom work if it is 1 5/16 or 33.33 mm? It says for 35mm in the specs.

A: It should be OK as there is some capacity to tighten. You could also wrap some rubber around your boom to make the clamp grip if it was a tiny bit too small.

Q: 2. Will this REALLY hold 8 lbs. if it extended out perfectly horizontally and the 8 lbs. is on the end?

A: Yes, the load capacity is based on the full extension of the arm, so it will hold up to 8 lbs.

Q: 3. Is that impact arm with lever better than the impact one with knob? How it's vs Manfrotto one?

A: The only difference between the Impact Pivot Arm 20" with Locking Lever included in the Impact Pivot Arm Kit and the Impact Pivot Arm 20" with Adjustable Wheel Lock Control, B&H # IMBHE115, or the Manfrotto 244N Variable Friction Magic Arm, B&H # MA244N, with its adjustable locking wheel versus the Manfrotto 143N Magic Arm without Camera Bracket, B&H # MA143N, with its pivot locking arm would simply be the locking mechanism; otherwise, they are identical in all other aspects. The Impact arms have a maximum load capacity of 8 lb (3.6 kg), whereas the maximum load capacity of the Manfrotto arms would be 6.6 lb (3 kg).

Q: 4. Can I attach a microphone (5/8 ) clip?

A: You probably can but it requires a few pieces of intermediate hardware: First get the Micro Clamp with Spigot Kit, then get a 3/8 female to 5/8 male adapter. Attach your 5/8 female mic clip. Voila!

Q: 5. Boom pole c stand holder

A: The Impact Tilting Boom Pivot Clamp attaches to a strong stand that has a 5/8 top like most C stands and others. This is some links to stand options, https://bhpho.to/3jWF6Rl, https://bhpho.to/3sh8O7v, https://bhpho.to/3AJNRFf . And this is some columns you can use as arms, https://bhpho.to/3sj2yMs . Note you will need a sand bag for the bottom of the stand and one as a counter weight, https://bhpho.to/3yUfJWE .

Q: 6. Will the smallest 8mm opening snugly hold a scrim flag such as the folding Impact or Westcott flags and scrims?

A: The Impact LSA-BC Light Stand Boom Clamp should work for holding flags. But most use one like this, BH #IMKCP200B (https://bhpho.to/3ZY7uJr).

Q: 7. Will this hold 1" tube like a C-Stand?

A: This C-Boom Clamp is only for 1-1/4" and 1-1/5" pipes.

Q: 8. Can the ball pins be rotated to various positions? If so, can they be locked in those positions?

A: Yes it does rotate

Q: 9. What booms or adapters do you carry that will fit this 1.37 inch clamp?

A: The Impact Tilting Boom Pivot Clamp only works with this boom a href= http://bhpho.to/1jjxsxb. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1jjxsxb./a

Q: 10. how do you use it?? I just bought it. There are no directions!

A: The user manual to the arm can be found here: https://bhpho.to/2KjwXWF

[5/8" Receiver] I tried a few different microphone mounts in my audiobooth and was not able to get the results I needed. I use these arms in my video productions and thought why not try it as a microphone mount! It works great and gives me so much more flexibility than I had before. [2.405 lb] Great unit, but I had to mold half of a pvc tube to the outside of the boom and inside of the clamp to fit my boom ... I suppose professional booms are of standard size and will fit well, but mine is more of an amateur boom and needs some sort of liner to clamp well. No issues other than fit ... it works great! Very fast delivery, too!

[5/8" Receiver] I use two of these to hold a flash on each side of a tripod. It allows complete flexibility of the flash position without ANY movement when it is locked down. I used existing speedlights rather than an expensive dedicated macro flash device. This saved big $$. The quality is very good, heavy construction and rock solid. Well worth the cost. I find it easy to use and convenient to leave attached to the tripod. I spent about a month looking for a cost effective setup for macro flash until I found this. I am extremely happy with this product.

[2.405 lb] I was looking for a boom arm setup specifically dedicated to place a small light on, when I discovered this pivot clamp. Already owning a mic boom, this clamp enables me to use something I already have on hand to put a light up high if I want or need to.
A sand bag provides ballast, and the whole setup works well for my purposes.

By using this, I have no need to spend a few hundred on a dedicated setup. I can now use gear I already have on hand to get the job done.

[2.405 lb] Much stronger and more stable than the plastic ones.
I have it holding a 12' boom pole with counterweight.
I didn't trust the plastic one with a high dollar shotgun mic, out over someone head.
Fiberboard insert is removable so you can use a slightly larger pole than stated.

[5/8" Receiver] This was a replacement part for a cheap boom pivot that had stripped its threads. High quality, solid replacement part. Be careful to get the correct size as there are a couple of alternative diameters around. B&H shipping is reliable and fast.

[2.405 lb] I purchased 3 clamps for use in my studio. I am located an hour away from Toronto Canada. Delivery was fast only a few days. Even with the exchange rate on our dollar still well worth it. Very well made and sturdy to handle most lights and softboxes. My only regret I should have got them years ago. I made do with cheap plastic clamps. would definitely recommend them.

[Boom Arm Clamp] Great support arm. Works well with any brand of super clamp. I use this as part of a rig to mount a camera behind a backboard at college basketball games.
