The 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Canon EF Mount from Rokinon is a manual focus telephoto prime lens useful for portraiture and all medium telephoto applications. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is effective in low light and enables shallow depth of field control. With a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, shallow depth of field imaging will be rendered with pleasing out-of-focus highlights. Compatible with both full frame and APS-C format DSLRs, this lens provides a 35mm focal length equivalence of 202.5mm when used on APS-C cameras. Its minimum focus distance is 2.6'.

The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters.

A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work on the Nikon D5600

A: Yes, it works on the D5600, this is manual focus only.

Q: 2. Does this lens have a lock focus funtion? I'm planning to use it for astrophotography, so keep the lens focused is critical...

A: Since this lens is manual focus lens technically the focus will not change as long as you don't rotate the focus ring, but there is no locking mechanism to hold the ring in place.

Q: 3. I have a Pentax K-1ii and when I mount the Samyang 135mm, the F-stop display on the view screen just flashes repeatedly; it shows "F --". I have changed the F-stop on the lens to try different settings, but the F on the display still flashes repeatedly. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere?

A: This is normal. The Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC lens for Pentax K-mount does not have electronic contacts and communicate the aperture information to the camera. As such, the camera will never be able to tell what aperture your lens is at, hence the F--.

Q: 4. Is the direction of focus the same as native manual focus Nikon lenses, or is it reversed?

A: it is the same

Q: 5. Can this lens be used with the FTZ convert on a Nikon Z6 ?

A: All you would need for to use this lens is the Nikon FTZ adapter.

Q: 6. How is this (if at all) different from the Samyang 135mm f/2 which is on backorder?

A: There will be little to no difference between the Rokinon 135mm f/2 lens for E-mount and Samyang 135mm f/2 lens for E-mount.

Q: 7. Could this lens be good for indoor weddings and portraits?

A: This will be good for lowlight and indoor environments however it is manual focus lens, it may slow you down for weddings and event shoots.

Q: 8. my Nikon D5600 only lets me shoot at f22 with this lens is there a setting so i can use all aperture ?

A: One of the options in the aperture ring is a red auto setting. You would need to set the aperture to that auto setting and then change the aperture via the camera.

Q: 9. I just ordered this lens and considering it's weight, I wonder what a good tripod collar would be for this lens since I'm using it with a Canon 5DS on a camera stand?

A: There isn't a specific collar for this lens, however you can get a universal collar made by Manfrotto; https://bhpho.to/2bwh1Ow

Q: 10. Does this Samyang lens for Pentax mount have infinity focus on the left, as for other Pentax lenses?(the picture shows infinity on the right, but it says Alternate Mount Shown')Thanks,Ben

A: Infinity focus will be on the left side of the lens.

[Full-Frame] As always, B&H delivered in incredible time (I received it within two days of ordering) and the lens itself is incredibly precise. The manual aperture dial on the lens is very useful for astrophotography, which is the reason for my purchase. I highly recommend others following in the same footsteps as me at least consider this lens as an option.

[Full-Frame] Very sharp at f/4 corner to corner. The lens is fairly heavy and would benefit from a rotating tripod collar. I use a macro slider (Manfroto 454) to help with balance on the star tracker otherwise it would be front heavy and subject to tilt.

[2.42 lb] Must have for astrophotography, but also produces amazing frames for daytime photography, along with a silky smooth bokeh.

The only thing missing here is auto focus, but realistically the majority of people use this for astrophotography where auto focus is not part of the language.

[18.8°] This lens is absolutely perfect for shooting nebulae and some deep space objects.

What I love about this lens is how it puts the entirety of control in your hands.

The return on investment is fantastic and this is a lens I will keep for a lifetime.

[2.42 lb] Several members in my astronomy club had high praise for this lens. You don't need auto focus for astro photography. It's well on the r5, r7 and ZWO astro cameras. Just one word of caution. There is a menu item in the Canon bodies to turn on to allow you to shoot with a lens. That goes for telescopes too.

[f/22] Only used it for a couple of shots to see how well it performed. Sharp shots and nice depth of field.

[77 mm (Front)] After reading some recommendations on this lens for use in astrophotography, I decided to try it out and wasn't disappointed. This lens has excellent image quality which holds up pretty well wide-open. The lens is heavy but that's because of its solid build and fast speed with lots of glass. It is well corrected for aberrations and comes close to being a macro-quality lens (though it doesn't focus close like a macro).
Like any thing, it has its shortcomings. It is fully manual focus and doesn't support AF with any camera. That said, focus is tight and fairly easy with it f2 aperture. The focus ring turns a bit too tight for me but others like it that way. It may loosen up with time. The lens needs to be set to the end of its aperture range when mounting and de-mounting on my K mount camera but that's not a bad thing. As mentioned, it is a bit on the heavy side and large when its hood is in place.
It comes with a hood, a lens cap, a body cap, a nice bag, and an instruction sheet.

[f/22] This lens is a creative lens to use. I am using it for astronomy.
What is great is that I can control the focus and f- stop with the ability to fine the picture. Also on the camera does not take control over the shot.

[Canon EF] I just set focus at 3' to infinity and shoot. It works great and provides clear focused images as an 18 mm equvalent on my a6500 crop frame camera. I use it primarily for indoor family shots and outdoor landscapes.
