Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this fully power a Canon R5C when filming in 8k/60fps?

A: The IndiPRO Tools D-Tap to LP-E6 Dummy Battery Cable (30") (B&H# INPTLPD) may be used to replace the functionality of an LP-E6, LP-E6N, or LP-E6NH battery. It is regulated to provide the requisite 7.2VDC at up to 2A. That is sufficient to equal the functionality of that battery. Users of the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera (B&H # CAER5C) should keep in mind that it will not provide the higher voltage and wattage of the Canon DR-E6C DC Coupler for EOS R5 C (B&H# CADRE6C) that is required for full electronic lens control at frame rates above 30p in 8K, above 30p in 5.9K, or above 60p in 2.9K modes.

Q: 2. Is there a minimum voltage to power this? Can I use a 9v-12v source?

A: Voltage has to be over 9V

Q: 3. what is the difference between this and https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077443-REG/indipro_tools_ptlpd_power_tap_for_canon.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077443-REG/indipro_tools_ptlpd_power_tap_for_canon.html/a ?

A: Doesnt look like any difference. But I would be cautious buying the indiepro...I bought 3...and only 2 still work.

Q: 4. Will this work with Small HD 701 monitors?

A: No, you will need a D-tap to Sony L Series Dummy Battery Cable to connect a block battery to the SmallHD 701 Monitors.

Q: 5. Can I connect it to a Atomos power station?

A: Not that we are aware of. This product is for the IndiPRO Tools PORTA-PAK system. We are not aware of how it being able to work with other battery solutions. https://bhpho.to/2KfB5YJ

Q: 6. Will this be good to pair with the canon 5rc with a small rig 99 battery?

A: The IndiPRO Tools SAFETAP to Canon LP-E6 Regulated Dummy Battery Cable is a perfect choice to power the Canon R5c with an external power using the D-Tap.

Q: 7. Is it fully decoded so the camera show the battery capacity?

A: Yes, it is full decoded. This cable includes a smart chip in the dummy battery that communicates with the camera to show the battery capacity as well as other information.

Q: 8. Will this product work with my Indipro Quad Power Grid 4 Bay Dmwblf19 Battery Adapter For Panasonic Gh4, and connect to a Black Magic Design 4K Video Assist? There are two power cables out, so can I power the GH4 and the monitor?

A: This cable has only been polarity tested with the IndiPro Tools POWER POD Dual & Quad LP-E6 (7.2 & 14.4 volt) battery mounting plates. It may not work properly with other IndiPro Tools Power Grids.

Q: 9. Will this fit in the Moza Air 2 2mm camera power port?

A: This cable is designed specifically for the SWIT S-8845 Battery. We do not recommend it for products beyond that. https://bhpho.to/2EzShEO

Q: 10. Can this be used to power BMPCC 6k

A: Yes.

[19 VDC, 5 A] I've purchased 3 of these for long term time lapses connected to a custom built 12 volt battery in a pelican case. So far it's worked for 8 months. They work great regulating the voltage down to the required 7.2 volts. I'm using them on a 5D M2, and 5D M4, 60d. and 60da. No issues at all.

[18 AWG] Use this to power up my Canon 7D, I appreciate the on line regulation, camera stays cool and no noise from regulation. This stays with me in my tool box during long shoots when I want extended life.

[18 AWG] Long cable is very useful, attached it to my Smallhd 702 and never looses power.
The long cable makes it very versatile especially when I use the ronin mx. No more canon or massive sony batteries.

[0.2 lb] This power supply works well with my Canon 6D for studio shooting all day long without worrying about batteries. It should work with any Canon camera that takes a LP-E6 battery. Quality wise, it seems a little light weight, but works great for the price.

[3.2 oz (91 g)] It's not like other gear. It has one job to do and just has to do it every time. First try it didn't work, but keep reading. Tech support was instantaneous and super courteous. I was helped in trouble shooting the device and assured that even if I destroy it in the process they'll send me a replacement. Turned out that the male barrel connector I had on my end wasn't to spec and its positive post wasn't making contact, hence not providing power. Snipped the connectors as I didn't have other barrel connectors around and everything works as it should. AND it does not generate the "irregular communication with LP-E6" error which is important when remotely operating the camera. Why 5 stars, even though I had issues out of the box? The issues were on my end, plus customer service of this caliber is hard to find. Keep it up IndiPro.

[3.2 oz (91 g)] I have two of these - one for Canon body, one for Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera. When the cameras are powered from a 98 WH IDX battery with D-taps, I can run the cameras literally all-day without worrying when the battery needs to be changed.

So far everything works perfectly - no problems with fit, no problems with function. Nothing gets hot. Very happy with these adapters.

[7.2 V] I didn't realize how much use I would get out of these cables. I mainly use them to power some of our SmallHD monitors either from the D-Tap port on the Ronin or out of our IndiPRO battery plates on our cameras. I also recently started using it with my Canon 5D Mark III while shooting timelapses. I don't have a plate specifically for the 5D, but I borrow a different plate and use this cable to keep the camera powered for 10+ hour timelapses
