Designed for both music and video creators, the Zoom Q8 Video Recordercombines HD video recording with Zoom's high-quality audio capture technology. The Q8 captures up to 2304x1296 video at 30 fps, which gives you more resolution than Full HD 1080p. The extra resolution is useful when you want to crop or reframe a shot. You can also record in standard 1080p at 30 fps, as well as 720p video at 30 or 60 fps. Additionally, you can choose to record lower resolution WVGA formats when smaller file sizes are needed. The 2.7" LCD touchscreen can be rotated to be viewed from a variety of angles. When the screen is positioned to face the front of the camera, the image rotates so it is right side up. A: Yes: In STEREO AUDIO mode the four audio channels from the mic capsule L/R input and the external 1/2 inputs are mixed to stereo and saved as a single stereo file (.WAV). Video is not recorded.

A: I apologize that this is not a direct answer to your Q. I have the Zoom Q8 and I have a digital sound-only Zoom recorder. Zoom sound has ALWAYS been very high quality -- so ANY Zoom is better than no Zoom. It's hard to imagine that the sound quality would be much different between the 6 and the 8. I got the 8 for a great price, but if the 6 was a much lower price, I'd have been happy to get that.
