Q: 9. How long is this camera screw in inches from the base to the end (not including the head)?

A: It is probably not long enough. I can't remember exactly how long, but I purchased this screw to use with a small teleprompter. It needed to go through the tripod camera plate then through the teleprompter plate into a small threaded universal mounting plate. It only went flush with the teleprompter plate; not enough threads to securely attach the teleprompter. It would be helpful if the description or specs gave the length so that we could make a more informed decision.

[3/8"-16] Pretty handy as it also fits my camera accessories with standard locating holes. I attached it to a camera cage and it became one of the simplest ways to rig for a top-down shot. 5

[0.21 oz (6 g)] Wow, how can I better express the quality of this screw? Unusual, yes, but if you need just this type of screw, this is it. The photo doesn't begin to show its qualities, the shininess, the rigidity, and yes, the length! In all seriousness, the screw did just what I wanted. I am using it to attach a ball head to a 3rd party arca swiss clamp. 5

[0.03 lb] Very solid aluminum construction. Thumb wheel has additional knurling for added grip. The rod clamping screws are not the "ratchet" type, but this hasn't been a problem so far - they are short enough to spin a full 360 and clear other bits. For the price, worth tossing a few in the camera bag. 5

[0.03 lb] This part is well machined and is good for attaching accessories. I use it to hold a 7 monitor on top of a mini ball head. If you are very heavy handed I could see eventually stripping the threads on tightening but if you don't get crazy with it you should be fine. It's worth the money. 5
