A: You should not have any flicker at those rates. The ballast is adjustable up to 100,000 Hz . The ballast is factory set at 66.67 hz. Even at 24kHz you would be fine.

Q: 6. Does anyone fully understand the bicolor aspect of this light? I've been watching NAB videos and it seems like the balast is universal but you may have to swap the head for tungsten 2k open face mode.. Don't quite understand yet. thanks!

A: For the Joker2 1600 and our Joker2 800 their is an alternate rear cap that will be available in about 8 weeks that will allow you to mount a Tungsten 2k or 1k lamp in the same socket as the daylight version. The igniter cap is removed by Two screws and un-clipped from the buglite head. You can the mount the alternate rear cap that has an on/off switch and plug so you may use the tungsten lamps. This allows you a 2k/1k Tungsten Par or buglite when you need it without having to carry an additional fixture. This is a very quick, simple swap of caps.

Q: 7. Can I use this bulb as a replacement for a 1000w rated lamp that I have been running with a g9.5 1000w tungsten bulb/ Id like to switch to daylight bulbs, but keep the same photo lights. Is the possible?

A: No, HMI lamps require a specially designed fixture with a special transformer (ballast) that regulates the power going to the fixture.

[4.005 lb] I am still rating this five stars as it is built amazing (of course-as its made by Arri) and does what a scrim is supposed to do. It just doesn't stop down the light hardly at all, so make sure you have some other form of knocking down your lights. 5

[Single-ended] For the low cost, purchasing this product should be a given. There is no easier way to stop-down your light efficiently, and this scrim lasts. It can endure hours of intense heat before showing any discoloration, and even after that point, will last through whatever beating you put it through. Bottom line: If you are purchasing an Arri light, don't hesitate to include this accessory. 5

[9,000 W] these lamps usually last around 700 hours. Thank God the m18 lamp head comes with an actual counter to let you know when you are close. Somewhere around 500 hours, I would buy a replacement bulb. just keep it with you handy in case you blow a bulb.one quick gaffer trick is to throw a scrim between the lamp lens and the barn doors when you shut off the light in cold weather so you don't crack a glass on the lamp, or blow the bulb. the theory is that the metal in the scrim will help the glass to cool down at a slower rate. 5
