The Elite Screens CURVE100H-A1080P3 Fixed Frame Screenfrom Elite Screens CURVE100H-A1080P3 Fixed Frame Screenfeatures a curved screen designed to extend into the viewer's peripheral vision to create a more immersive viewing experience. To further enrich the experience, the screen enables placement of the right, center, and left channel speakers behind the it. Placing the primary speakers being the screen helps bring picture and sound into tighter unity.

Another benefit of a curved frame design is that it helps eliminate a visual artifact known as "pincushion effect". Pincushion effect happens when the distance to the right and left edges of the projected image are greater than the distance to the center, resulting in a image resembling an hourglass laying on its side. This effect is due to the fact that because light has to travel farther to reach the edges than the center the image tends to become more spread out the further it gets from center. Curving the screen allows the light to travel the same distance to reach any point on the screen surface, thereby yielding a uniform picture.

It is best to place the projector as centered and aligned with the screen as possible to ensure the best image quality. [Yes] I was surprised at how easily it assembled and how tight and flat the surface is ( not a ripple in it, like my old Da-lite Perm Wall had ). The quality is excellent. And the images from my Epson 5040ub on the screen are brighter, sharper and clearer and the color is more accurate. A great purchase. I tip my hat to Elite and to B& H ( for their great service). [Lunette] I ordered this screen to go with my BenQ HT3550 projector (also through B&H Photo) and had about a week of viewing on a bare white wall prior to the screen being put up. The difference is dramatic. The two areas the projectors trail behind TV's is color reproduction and contrast. I was initially worried that the ES Sable Frame CineGrey fixed frame screen may sacrifice color vibrance for the sake of contrast, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the brightness and color brilliance did not suffer at all even though the contrast was boosted tremendously. In my light-controlled room, both contrast, color, brightness, and sharpness was significantly better than my 55 inch 4k HDR LED T.V., which was not at all the case when I was projecting onto a bare white wall. Well worth every penny. Installation notes: definitely need 2 people to do the job, and just in case you are wondering if they accidentally gave you the wrong fabric...just keep rolling it out. There was a good 4 to 5 feet of white protective fabric before you actually see the screen material. Oh, and once the frame itself is assembled, I highly recommend going ahead and installing the top mounts to your wall, making sure wverything lines up with the bare frame, and then putting the frame back down and attaching the fabric. It is a lot easier to make adjustments and alignments without the fabric in and this also reduces the risk of accidental damage to the fabric. 5
