Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Soundcraft UI series mixers support Dante interface?

A: No, the Soundcraft Ui Series mixers do not support Dante. However, an option card can be added to mixers in the Si Series to enable Dante compatibility.

Q: 2. The box dimensions are listed as 19 wide by 7 high, but the form is described as floor and I only see holes on the left side handle. Can it be securely mounted vertically in a 4 unit rack in a way that it will withstand local touring use?

A: And yes, the UI16 can be mounted in a standard rack.

Q: 3. How good are the mic preamps?

A: They are as good or better than Mackie's mic pre's and that certainly is a good thing. Soundcraft is a quality product with an excellent reputation for providing quality and value and reliability at every price point. This mixer is no exception. Depending upon your application, this might be a great choice for you.

Q: 4. Does anyone know were you can order a replacement antenna? The antenna broke on my ui 12 mixer.

A: Isn't this the replacement on BnH? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1096529-REG/tp_link_tl_ant2408cl_indoor_omni_directional_antenna.html

Q: 5. Can the Ui12 model be rack mounted?

A: The Ui12 is not designed to be rack mounted. USB, Ethernet as well as power switch are located on the left and right sides of the unit.

Q: 6. Does this unit USB connect to a PC (like Behringer XR18) and DAW recording with multiple recording software? IF not is the XR18 the only unit out there that does?

A: No, The USB connection are used for software updates, snapshots, play audio files and recording. I don't know of a unit at this price that will what the XR18 does with the USBs. There are others but they are more expense.

Q: 7. can you link two sound craft ui boxes to create double the inputs?

A: You could always run the output of one mixer into the other, but you'd only be able to control one at a time with a single device. If the UI16 is not big enough for you, consider a larger (and more expensive) mixer.

Q: 8. USB 3.0?

A: The USB ports support USB 2.0. If the device is USB 3.0 it would need to be backwards compatible.

Q: 9. Can this unit perform a mix minus?

A: You can create a mix minus using one of the Aux sends as your mix to a caller, and bring the callers audio into an available channel on the board. The board by itself does not have a mix minus feature. For a podcasting style mixer/ recorder with built-in mix minus, here's this option BH #RORDECSTRPRO.

Q: 10. Can the aux outputs be sent to four separate headphone amps for on stage in-ear monitoring?

A: Hi Michael,Yes, they can.

[16] The product is being used in a commercial meeting setting on a regular basis. First impressions are that it is great to travel with. It is important to upload the latest software onto the mixer but after that its great. The main good points are iPad control but because it is browser driven any device with a browser can control it, Built in Wifi which a lot of the higher end desks don't offer. Double click on the top of each channel sends the channel straight to unity so if you've sound-checked correctly it makes using the desk fast and efficient. I am tempted to buy another one as I've found this desk to be the best 'bang for buck' I've seen in a while.

[11.05 lb] I installed the UI16 in a Church and it is packed with goodies. Compression is available on all channels is will keep the audio at a desired level.Great EQ. Can record or play using USB drives. Label each channel, set groups and mute groups. First two channels have Guitar effect options. 4 aux outs for personal monitor mix. Each musician can control their own mix with any WIFI device, I was using a $ Chromebook with runs for 8 hours on a charge. You can set with the audience and mix the band with out running a bunch wires. I believe this is the best small mixer for the money, you will not miss the clutter of the old mixers it is just amazing. I highly recommend this over any other mixer.

[HDMI] I am very satisfied with all aspects of this mixer! I like not using an app. It works on my iPhone and iPad. The layout is very easy to use.

[HDMI] Broke it in with my first try at a big show \ conference. I had no clue what to expect. It was great being able to be un tethered to the terrible location I had sound being brought in and being able to tune to the room. I've been mixing stage, theater, and various live events for the last 15 years. While reading some of the reviews and I do agree I didn't have knobs and some other things to deal with that I'd be more comfortable with I will say this mixer is a joy to work with at the price point and functionality it provides. I would recommend resetting the network settings and run off of a router versus the built in off of the board it's much more stable over a longer period of time.

[HDMI] I was unsure that changin from analog physical mixer, but our sound man convinced me, so we did buy it. From the very first day we use it . I was amazed of all the capabilities, with a graphic interface so easy to use, but at the same time able to perform a lot of stuff. I definitely recomend it.
