The Zacuto Z-ZMCR Micro Mountis a single 15mm rod clamp that attaches to any device with a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole and provides you a way to mount your device on to a 15mm rod. Once mounted your device can be quickly clamped to the end of an optional 15mm rod or an articulating arm with a 15mm rod end. The Zicro Micro is essentially a small platform that incorporates a 15mm rod clamp and a captive 1/4"-20 tie-down screw that allows you to adjust the position of your device on the Zicro Micro for a snug fit.

You can mount devices with a 3/8"-16 threaded hole by using an optional 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 adapter. The rod clamp features a spring-loaded locking lever with a small footprint allowing the mount to be used in tight spaces. Two retaining claws screw into the side of the mount, allowing you to position your device against the claws preventing it from spinning on the base.

The Zicro Micro allows you to slide accessories with a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole onto a 15mm support rod, which allows you to quickly mount/dismount/reposition your accessory onto an optional 15mm rod.

The 1/4"-20 tie-down screw is captive in the Zicro Micro platform and features a small amount of horizontal adjustment, which may allow you to snug a device against the two rubber-tipped catch hooks.

The rubber-tipped catch hooks are designed to hold your device on the unit and prevent it from twisting on the plate. The catch hooks can be threaded tighter into the plate or un-threaded for more room for your device. If the catch hooks interfere with your device, you can remove the catch hooks from the plate.

The spring-loaded locking lever is used to tighten the integrated rod clamp. When working in tight spaces the spring-loaded design allows you to tighten or loosen the clamp without being able to turn the lever fully.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I power the Gratical Eye with my c300 camera only? I don't necessarily want to use external power (ex: anton bauer).

A: The Gratical Eye can ONLY be powered from an 12-16.8 volt external source thru the Lemo 2 pin power input . I don't own a C300 but looking at the specs I do not see a power out on that camera. So a Anton Bauer or similar external battery is must to use this EVF.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with Sony A1?

A: No, the Zacuto Gratical EVF only has a single SDI input and there are no SDI OUT ports on the Sony A1.

Q: 3. Will this work with my Sony PMW500?

A: It should work. It comes with a DTap and SDI cable. You'll need a mount. Probably the Z-rail and the Zacuto mini mount would work. Check with Zacuto. Customer service there is excellent.

Q: 4. Does this show the battery life remaining?

A: The display screen includes a battery meter.

Q: 5. Does this work with the Panasonic Varicam LT?

A: Yes. The Zacuto Gratical Eye Micro OLED EVF, this item BH #ZAZGRE • MFR #Z-GRE will work with the Varicam LT. See below. The Varicam LT has this port that you can use to connect to the EVF. VF SDI terminal HD (1.5G)/3G-SDI: 0.8 V [p-p], 75 Ω

Q: 6. Does this unit come with the SDI/2-pin cables as advertised on Zacuto's site? I see the question answered both yes and no here.

A: Disregard. The cable is not advertised as part of the package. And that is a shame.

Q: 7. Hi.. can I use this with Phantom flex 4k camera ?

A: We are not familiar with Phantom cameras. However if that camera has an HDMI or SDI output which send out a signal that is up to 1080p at 60fps it should work fine. However this will not see any super fast slow motion frame rates.

Q: 8. Is there dampening control of Rotating Rosette, or is it fixed? What is max length (center of rosette to center of 15mm rod)?

A: No, the Zacuto Axis Micro EVF Mount is not dampening, but you can add BH #ZAZFRJ which will add dampening to the Zacuto Axis Micro EVF Mount. The max length or the Zacuto Axis Micro EVF Mount is 3.88 inches. Zacuto also offers B&H # ZAZMAEM which has dampening.

Q: 9. Does one have to loosen and then tighten the rosette knobs each time, to rotate the rosettes? Or is the rotation on both rosettes of the Zacuto Flush Rosette EVF Mount as fluid as it is in the Zacuto Axis Mini EVF Mount?

A: Yes, rotating the thumbscrew is necessary in order to adjust accessories mounted on the Zacuto Flush Rosette EVF Mount. The Zacuto Axis Mini EVF Mount has more points of adjustment.

Q: 10. Does this work with RED DSMC2?

A: Just as long as you have an SDI Module on your DSMC2 camera this will work well.

[1.2 oz / 34 g] Had to buy this to relocate my handgrip on my Sony FS7 because I have the Zacuto baseplate and it doesn't allow you to have the hangrip in the original place on the camera. This works nice with the Shape extension arm I purchased and allows you to set the camera flat on a table or ground.

[0.11 lb] This is high quality as would be expected from Zacuto. It fit perfectly on my 15mm rods, tightened up well, and the FS7 hand grip screwed into the rosette tightly. It also looks really nice.

[0.11 lb] I use this with the Canon C300. The Z-Drive is easy to set up for use with the narrow Cannon 'L' photo lenses and with the wider Cine style Prime lenses. I was afraid that the 1:1 drive ratio would be too quick for the Canon photo zoom lenses, but with a bright Z-Finder Pro and tension in this focusing unit, I am easily able to keep focus on subjects moving toward the camera from 30 feet to 2 feet. The Z-Drive is designed for Cine lenses so the drive ratio is expectedly perfect for the long ratation and the mild resistance produces a smooth focus transition. As expected from Zacuto, the build is solid, rugged, and of excellent quality throughout. The Z-Drive does not have focus stops, but I never block movement that tightly, and only once used a laser range finder to determine distance within a thousands of a meter. With the Tornado Drive handle for the left hand and the recoil's extended grip handle on the right, I have all the focus control and camera support that I need for a solid shoulder mounted camera rig.

[0.11 lb] I ended up using this and the original handle on my Eva1 to supplement the recoil handle I had originally thought was the best way to go. Love it, makes for a handy EVF mount. Built like a tank.

[0.11 lb] If you've used an Alexa or a Phantom then you know the value of a good, sharp, viewfinder. False Color and Peaking is like wheels on a car for a viewfinder in my opinion and any car worth driving needs wheels, so their inclusion in the feature list of this VF, though elementary, indispensable. With That Being Said,... the inclusion of, 1D Lut support (.cube), Waveforms, Histograms, Trigger and T/C support for most, if not all Sonys Canons and Reds, fantastic form factor, build quality, great Loupe optics with Diopter and 1 stage Anti Fog built in, Additional Anti-Fog elements Included, sharp screen and Anamorphic Desqueeze for 1.33, 1.66, 2.0 for both 4:3 and 16:9 for most ratios, when allied to an intuitive, customizable physical interface, that's significant. More so considering the price. I bought mine on sale and at BH on special so the price paid at the the time is too low to actually quite comprehend. I've used VF's that cost more than 2 times the price of this Zacuto when it costs 1950.00 and have been thoroughly disappointed. I'm still slightly blown away at the value for money in this piece. It must be said that one should consider the Axis VF mount a required purchase with this item, as it's 1/4-20 thread on the Rossette. Bottomline: If you have a D-Tap/P-Tap and SDI out, get this VF if you need a VF for your VF needs.

[0.11 lb] I've used the z-loupe on Canon's 5D series of cameras, and this one for the EVA1 is even better. Most importantly, it doesn't require power, which allows for a lighter and less complicated rig. You give some resolution compared with the Gratical Eye, but you gain a lot in portability and efficiency. As far as loupes go, this is the best you can get.

[1.2 oz / 34 g] Works great on the Zacuto Rig, I can focus while moving and it makes life so easy.

[1.2 oz / 34 g] Super sharp and great portable size (if you have the additional power). Unfortunately, it takes up an SDI port and if your camera has only 1 port, you may be limited in what you can do. I don't recommend this for a Panasonic EVA1. You won't be able to shoot RAW or use an external recorder over SDI and get camera menus/info.

[0.11 lb] I use this mount with Zacuto Z-arm to attach PIX-5EH monitor. It works great. The only downside is that the non-twist horns interfere with buttons on my monitor, so I removed them for now.
