A: They will probable fit. I used Kodak Wratten, but the Lees seem to be similar by reading the spec. You need to cut small bevels on two adjacent corners to get them to feed all the way in. I can stack two filters in mine. Be careful that the lens element does not touch the filters when zoomed to 11mm. Mine do not, but some lenses do.

A lot of less expensive lenses have variable maximum aperatures that change as you zoom the lens. Maybe F/5.6 for example. So long story short...it's a great thing that you can open up to F/4 even at 24mm.

A: If you use this for Astro you would need to run longer shutter speeds which would either result in blurry stars (due to the movement) or increased noise due to increasing the ISO (to compensate for the light difference on a f/2.8 lens) But it's definitely more than possible depending on the camera it's being used on.
