Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it work with NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring for Standard Filter Threads 105, 95, and 82mm ?

A: This ring will allow for an adapter with a 105mm thread to fit a lens with a 95mm thread.

Q: 2. Does this fit onto Leica Elmarit-R lens with series VII filter thread?

A: Apparently there are two versions of this lens. Series VII retaining ring should be 54mm so this step ring should get you to a 55mm filter size.

Q: 3. Can this cause vignetting on a Laowa 7.5mm lens?

A: The Heliopan 46-58mm Step-Up Ring will not cause vignetting if attached to the Laowa 7.5 lens, but the "lens hood" must be removed to allow for the connection of the 46-58 step up ring.

Q: 4. is this 43x0.5 or 43x0.75?

A: The Heliopan 43-46mm Step-Up Ring (#243) has a 0.75 thread pitch.

Q: 5. Will this step up ring work with a Leica Noctilux 50mm 0.95 lens?

A: The Heliopan 60-77mm Step-Up Ring (#644) (B&H# HESUR6077) will fit the 60mm filter thread of the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH. Lens (Black) (B&H# LE50095NB). As such, you'll be able to add 77mm filters to that lens.

Q: 6. What is the thickness of this filter in mm, especially the outside 82mm diameter portion?

A: The thickness of this step up ring is about 4mm.

Q: 7. Greetings! Is this the .5 fine thread or the standard .75 thread? I wish to use on a Polaroid 180 and don't want to trash the threads. Thanks!

A: The Heliopan 46-49mm Step-Up Ring uses standard threads, and are excellent quality step-up rings with brass construction.

Q: 8. What is the outside diameter of this ring? Is it 100mm so that I can use a push on lens cap?

A: The outside diameter is around 97mm-98mm. A 100mm lens cap will be loose.

Q: 9. I need to step up from 48mm to 77mm. Can I use this ring in combination with a 58 to 77mm ring?

A: To mount 77mm filters on a lens with 48mm threads, you can use the Heliopan 48-58mm Step-Up Ring (#184) with any 58-77mm Step-Up Ring. Sensei PRO 58-77mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, BH #SESURPA5877, is a good option.

Q: 10. Looking to use this on my sigma 18-35 f1.8. With a filter on it, will there be vignetting?

A: You could use the Heliopan 72-77mm Step-Up Ring (#141) on the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens. You will not get vignetting but you will not be able to use the lens hood.

[Brass] I am using this step up ring to put filters on my Panasonic LX100. The lens housing on the LX100 is roughly 58mm, so when I use this, its flush with housing. A really clean setup. I bought this instead of cheaper step up rings since this is made out of brass and I'll be swapping out filters frequently. It has worked great so far. Never a snag.

[Brass] At Last ! No more sticking filter rings ( as in all of the aluminum rings ). Pricey, but worth every penny to eliminate the frustrations, especially with rorating filters like ND gradients and polarizers. Now to save up a few pennies to buy a couple of more.

[0.14 lb] I have older version of Leica R 35/2 lens. It takes 48mm filters or I can use step-up rings for 52mm or any larger size filters. Well, the problem is that 48mm filters can be hardly found. If I did find them, they are very expensive. So I purchased 48-52mm step up ring by Heliopan that is what I review now. Heliopan step up rings are fantastic, because they are brass rings, not aluminum ones. They will not bind nor cross thread either. I have all sort of step up rings by B+W, but they are anodized aluminum. I don't trust their rigidity. Also they sometimes are stuck with filter rims, so binding is a real problem with any brand name step-up, -down rings as long as they are made from aluminum. Heliopan 48-52 mm ring is a bit heavy, but I like its solid feel and it gives me a worry free confidence from binding or cross thread. It will last than any filters or myself for that matter!
