            Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this work with the FLIR Breach PTQ136 ?

            A: Yes, it should

Q: 2. if it has sd card can it take pictures

A: Not this version. There is a more expensive version with SD card socket that can take photos and vga video. You need to use an RCA cable to transfer image into a capturing device if you buy this version.

Q: 3. I need an adapter or a step down ring to attach IGen to Celestron T-Mount Adapter. Could you recommend an adapter please?

A: Unfortunately I cannot. The Night Owl #NOIGM3X cannot be used to take photos with a camera. It has a video out connector that you can use to shoot videos with. The Night Owl #NOIGM3X-IC is the ONLY night vision device with Picture-Taking Capability.

Q: 4. is this a photonis tube because three people answered and i don't know which is right?

A: Yes, according to Bering Optics, the Bering Optics PVS-14BE 1x22 2nd Gen White Phosphor & Manual Gain Night Vision Monocular & Headgear Kit features a Photonis tube.

Q: 5. I need a wider field of view. Which wide angle lens or fish eye lens can be attached to it please?

A: None. You cannot change lenses.

Q: 6. This unit is not weather proof correct?

A: THE UNIT IS NOT WATERPROOF.

Q: 7. What is the figure of merit for the photonis tube or do you have documentation?

A: Figure of merit ratings are not available for the Bering Optics PVS-14BE 1x22 2nd Gen White Phosphor & Manual Gain Night Vision Monocular & Headgear Kit (BH # BEPVS14G2BBM).

Q: 8. I'm looking for a hobby-grade digital night vision specifically to record feral cats. I'm working with other people in the neighborhood (urban) to create a map of feral cats to eventually trap-neuter-return all of them. So I'm wondering if Night Owl Optics xGenPro 3-6x Digital Night Vision Monocular is the right choice for short-range video recording in the dark. Image clarity needs to be good enough to identify the cats in the area (their faces, fur patterns, ear-tips, etc.) from, say, 5 to 30 yards. Or would something like Bushnell 4.5x40 Equinox Z be better for my purpose? Thank you!

A: Yes, the Bushnell 4.5x40 Equinox Z has a 4.5x Optical Magnification, so it will be much better resolution & clarity than a digital zoom.

            Q: 9. Is there a camera adapter?

A: Unfortunately there is no Photo Adapter for this Monocular. My sincere apologies.

Q: 10. Does this model have a port for image capture?

A: Three answers already submitted confirm that it has an RCA connector for video (and if the video has still image capture) then it will do that as well. I have not tried it but plan to ----John

[1] I haven't placed the scope on a weapon as of yet, but had it out of the box and played around with. I believe it will work perfectly for killing some coyotes that I have bothering us around the house. I will add some photos at a later time and let you know what I think. Keep up the good work!!!!

[50 mm] I am very happy with my night vision monocular. I mostly use it for watching animals at night. I go into the woods hunting pretty often and it works well. The only down side is the 3-6x isnt adjustable. Its a set zoom. All you can do is focus it, but for less than 100 yards you can still see fine without large magnification. I would buy again.

[3x] excellent night vision for the price!!! It does go thru some batteries quickly, so pick up extras to take with you, but AA's are easy to come by.

[5' / 1.5 m] The scope is good. The instructions could be better. The instructions could be a clearer on zeroing the scope. The company could also put an instructional video on there website to help.
