The Sunwayfoto DMC-200R Vertical Rail With "On-End" Clamp is compatible with all Arca-style quick-release clamps, including RRS lever clamps. It has an "on-end" integral clamp that slides onto a Multi-Purpose Rail (not included) to create a quick-mount component for vertically mounting your camera. A strong rail cross-section provides good stability.

Q: 1. I have macro lenses that have a collar and the plate is oriented perpendicular to the body plate. Is there a way to orient the sled to work with that lens plate?

A: No, the Sunwayfoto Macro Focusing Rail does not come with a quick-release plate/mounting plate.

Q: 3. Can you do a multi-row panorama with this, or just one row?

A: Only single row panoramas. Sunwayfoto has a multi-row kit or you can buy the needed parts separately. Q: 4. The only difference between this and the Sunwayfoto DPG-2416R Multi-Purpose Rail is that with this (DMP 200R) you don't have to remove the plate from your camera to use it, right? Your camera with its plate fits into the clamp on the Sunwayfoto plate, right?

A: I think that the DPG-2416R requires the addition of something like the Sunwayfoto MCP-01 Mini-Clamp Package to complete the package and allow you to use your Arca-Swiss style plate on your camera. This would be more expensive than just buying the DMP-200R.

Q: 5. Can the sliding part be reversed so clamp knob doesn't interfere with crank handle?

A: The crank can be used on either end of the rail.

Q: 6. Can the clamp be rotated 90 degrees (for use with (tripod collar) lens plates?

A: No. You'd need to dove plate adapter for that.

Q: 7. How about the spec of thread of those screw holes on the end of rail? I would like to mount RRS PCLR clamp on end as a vertical nodal slide of my DIY multi-row pano nodal slide gear.

A: Screw holes are 1/4-20".

Q: 8. Does this slide length work OK with at 14mm with a Nikon 14-24 on a full frame? I want to make sure it isn't so long that it appears in the bottom of the frame.

A: Tested with a Nikon D850 with the 14-24mm f/2.8, the lens does not protrude far enough to be visible at 14mm. It's the perfect length, actually; it does stick out a hair but isn't visible in the photo.

Q: 9. Do you recommend the 200 or the 140 for a Sony A7III with a 16-35 2.8? thanks

A: In my honest opinion, there is not much disadvantage to having a longer nodal rail in case you get a longer lens in the future and need more room for correcting for parallax. While we haven't tested this combination ourselves, from looking at the camera + lens combination I think in this case 140mm should just about work.

Q: 10. Has the screw knob for the "arca clamp" had its stem shortened? From your product images it appears so.

A: The knob on the clamps for Sunwayfoto Macro Focusing Rail with Screw-Knob Clamp is 26mm long. It looks like the image was taking on an angle which change the perspective of the knob.

[0.72 lb] This works as expected, allowing me to get the camera closer to the subject, especially for macro, when conditions do not allow positioning the tripod any closer to the subject. It easily slides where mounted on the tripod head. 5

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] solid build and finish for much less cost than other equipment like Really Right Stuff. part of a large system of accessories. I use with a quick release plate on my Canon 7DII to shoot panoramas to be stitched later in photoshop. best for shorter lenses, but with the smaller camera body some lens don't have enough clearance when the hood is attached 5

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I love my RRS ball heads, clamps and tripods. Nonetheless, based on reviews here, I thought I would take a chance on this nodal slide and I am SO glad I did because it is very well made and a LOT less $$ than the (otherwise superb) RRS or equivalent nodal slides. Very importantly, the dovetail notches along the slide fit perfectly with my RRS ballhead clamps. Highly recommended. 5

[Arca-Type] This rail is perfect for making your own panoramic photography setup. Use it with an indexing rotator, plain rail, and your rotating tripod head to make multi-row panoramas. It would also work to make an adjustable custom flash bracket. You can undoubtedly think up other uses. Well made and strong. 5
