A: In 2014, when I bought mine, the mount was steel. I cannot guarantee that they still are today, but mine have been very durable and solid.

A: A 210/9 has almost entirely metal components. This is the best boom mic stand in my opinion, and B&H has the best price!

A: No, the legs on the Auray MS-65CL Professional Mic Stand do not unscrew and disconnect. Perhaps you may want to check out the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm Mic Stand with Table Clamp Mount (B&H # AUMSDTCL32) for a mic stand with a boom arm and table clamp.

A: Absolutely. This is the most stable tripod base mic stand there is. Its larger base makes a significant difference. If the heavy mic is going on the boom, a leg will need to be positioned under it. Much better material quality than the imitations.

A: Just over 40 inches when fully collapsed.

Q: 8. Does the boom arm unscrew from the clamp?

A: Yes, the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm Mic Stand with Table Clamp Mount can be unscrewed from the stem that attaches to the clamp and then used with a standard microphone stand. The stem can also be removed from the clamp by loosening the tension screw on the top of the clamp.

A: Yes, boom can be separated from stand without any problem.

Q: 10. What stand should I use with this boom arm? I have an Atlas Sound MS-43E which is pretty stable, 8-lb base, but is it enough when used with Shure BLX24?

A: You can use your Atlas MS-43E mic stand with this boom arm and a Shure BLX2 handheld wireless mic transmitter (which is the transmitter for BLX24 system). The MS-43E can support the weight of the boom arm and the mic.

[Black] I tend to make films on the go, so I attach this to a small backpack or in a suitcase. It is lightweight and does the trick. No, it is not indestructible and has plastic knobs...but it also weighs nothing and can hold a Sennheiser Mkh-416 (for example) with no problem. 5

[1.335 lb] This stand collapses down to 18 long and about 3 1/2 in diameter. I bought a Vanguard Alta 50 Tripod Bag, and I keep the AirTurn goSTAND and a 12 gooseneck in it. The whole thing fits in my 20 wide carryall that I take to gigs. I've been using this a year now, and I wouldn't go back to a traditional stand. Like any equipment, take care of it and it will take care of you. 5

[5/8"-27 Male] This is very sturdy and it will hold your mic. I was going to use it for my Neumann U87 but it might be too heavy after a while, but Guess what? I paid less than $25 bucks for this. If you complain about this product, you are probably having a bad day, Peace 5

[1.335 lb] Solidly made stand that can be used sitting down, standing up, or even table top. And with the end of each leg adjustable you can make the stand lean in toward your for more guitar clearance. AND it fits in your bag. 5
