The Delvcam 7" 3G-SDI HDMI On-Camera Monitoris a 16:9 monitor that provides a wide range of A/V connections for compatibility with SD and HD signals. Inputs include 3G-SDI, HDMI, and composite and component through BNC connectors. 3G-SDI, HDMI, and composite outputs let you duplicate your video content on an additional monitor.

The 7" LED-backlit LCD has a resolution of 1024x600 and contrast ratio of 800:1. A selection of advanced monitoring features is available to help you properly expose and focus your shots. Features include focus peaking, false color, and histogram display. It also has a mode specially designed for viewing footage from the Canon 5D Mark II. Four function buttons on the front of the panel can be programmed for shortcut access to the features that you use most.

The monitor is powered from 6.5 to 24 VDC via a male 4-pin XLR connector or with a single Sony NP-F970 or Canon LP-E6 type battery with the included battery plates. Additional battery plate types are also available. Also included with the monitor are a flexible folding sun hood, HDMI cable, DC power adapter, and a shoe mount adapter.

A: It will be compatible with the Canon using component.

Q: 4. Can this monitor be mounted onto a C stand or something similar for live on site production monitoring? There are very few photos of this monitor

A: Our monitor can be removed from its case and either be rack mounted or you can use a VESA mount for it. We cannot recommend any C stands as that is not something we have used or tested for this model. Q: 5. Is there a secret to getting the peaking to work? I'm afraid I may have received a defective unit. Picture and everything else is great... just no peaking - which I definitely need.

A: MENU SETTINGF1 - F4 user definable shortcut buttonsPress and hold any one of the 4 buttons until the shortcut menu appears inthe upper right. A: you would be best served with the DELVCAM DELV-WFORM-7SDI monitor , or the DELV-HD7-HSC for waveform.There is no on screen display for refresh rates, only frame rate and resolutions

Q: 8. how does this model compare to blackmagic 4K monitor? I need a decent 4K field monitor

A: Delvcam has not tested firsthand the Black Magic 4K monitor. Our unit is 4K on HDMI input and 3GSDI on the SDI input. The Delvcam screens native resolution is 3840 x 2160 and in itself is a very high quality display. You would have to compare the specs and pricing to determine which is the best fit for your needs.

Q: 9. Can I connect this display to SONY EX3 ?

A: Yes, you can use an SDI cable to connect this display to the Sony EX3.

Q: 10. Is there any latency with any of the inputs either in UHD or HD? Would this be suitable to mount on a jib? I've had some bad experiences with picture delay on other monitors so I'm just checking. Thanks!

A: On the HDMI input there is no latency but on SDI there will be some latency of 2-3 frames. As far as this being on a jib, you would have to find the specs of that jib to see if it can handle the weight of the monitor of 25+ pounds.

[10 W] The monitor is solid and the price is right! The menus and setting sharpness, color, are not that difficult to navigate. I haven't seen anyone have problems setting it yet. I just can't wait until I have a moment to wire up, integrate it's tally. 5

[1024 x 600] Excellent features for the price. I never know how much difference a field monitor would make in our production quality. This unit has false color which aids focussing; wave form and histogram views to aid the lighting set-up up front so less effort is needed in post. Unit comes with a sun shield for outdoor use and has a variety of mounting options. It can be mounted on top of a DSLR with the hot shoe mount or on a stand or tripod. Multiple inputs formats can be used although I only use the HDMI input. I use a separate HDMI selector switch to enable multiple cameras to use the same monitor which facilitates camera matching. 5

[10 W] Real Buttons! This device features actual knobs and buttons for settings. No need to navigate too many submenus and multifunction buttons. Video quality is good. Speaker is adequate for our needs. Does not include power supply, so you'll either need a battery or to purchase a PSU for it. Other than that, it's great. 5

[10 W] This monitor worked great for use as an on-camera preview monitor. We used it with an SDI cable for a VariCam35 and the client and the camera operator was able to see the composed shot, which looked great on the screen. We had to use a different arm for the monitor, though, this only comes with a hot shoe mount, which we could not use on our camera. 5

[1024 x 600] This monitor is feature packed for the price. We are using it for an on set production monitor which works very well. It has everything you would want including audio monitoring at the monitor. Focus peaking is very nice and the wave form is handy too. We use the NP-F970 batteries and we yet have to change batteries during a shoot. I was also very pleasantly surprised when the monitor arrived in a very nice metal case. The only negative is the menu navigation is a bit clunky but is alright once you get used to it. Bottom line... You'll have to pay more than twice the money for a monitor with the same features and quality. Highly recommended for low budget and student film programs. 5

[10 W] I am an independent producer, shooter, editor, scriptwriter, etc. I shoot a great many interviews and have, as of late, been reducing the size and weight of the gear I have to lug around. For the last year, I have been lugging around a TV set I bought@. It was cheap and I really only needed it for positioning of the interviewee. I had to bring power blocks and stingers to run the TV set. Now, with this hot little monitor, I not only get great positioning, outstanding quality of image, and other features (some of which I don't use), it also runs forever on batteries. Before I purchased it, I read some of the reviews. I must say that I could find none of the problems other people say they had. I think most of those other reviewers preferred to open the package, turn everything on, and, then, when it wasn't exactly what they expected, tried to read the instructions. I read them first and the unit is great. I have compared it with other units that cost four times as much and I can't tell the difference. 5
