A: The plate with the pin and the 1/4" screw can be removed. Or you just push the pin down.

[0.08 lb] it's a nice little mount. Hand-screw in (no more stray nickels). it sits a little off the bottom of the camera, of course, so I don't leave it there. But i can pop it on when I need to use the tripod so it works great. 5
