Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, do you know if this lens will fit a Lomo 16-opf-12-1 Zoom 10-100mm? The thread seems to be around 75mm but I'm not sure.

A: Unfortuantely, we are not sure. It appears the LOMO 16OPF 12-1 Cine zoom lens 10-100/2.5 16mm lens is an older Russian lens that has since been discontinued. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any information listing the filter thread size for this lens.

Q: 2. Can it work with NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring for Standard Filter Threads 105, 95, and 82mm ?

A: This ring will allow for an adapter with a 105mm thread to fit a lens with a 95mm thread.

Q: 3. Can this cause vignetting on a Laowa 7.5mm lens?

A: The Heliopan 46-58mm Step-Up Ring will not cause vignetting if attached to the Laowa 7.5 lens, but the "lens hood" must be removed to allow for the connection of the 46-58 step up ring.

Q: 4. What is the pitch of the 86-95 step up ring? Does it match the Otus 85mm?

A: Sorry but unable to help. Don't know the Otus and don't know the pitch. All I can say is, that it's a quality ring.

Q: 5. I'm trying to mount 86mm coarse filters on a P6 45mm Hartblei Super Rotator. Is the 86mm side coarse threaded?

A: Unfortunately, the 86mm side is not shown as coarse threaded by the manufacturer.

Q: 6. I have a Nikon Z50 and wish to go from a Nikkor DX 16-50 3.5-6.3 to a Nikkor DX 50-250/4.5-6.3 would the Heliopan 700177 be compatable with the threads on the lens. In the future I'll be purchasing a better set of filters what is the thread type on this step up adapter?

A: You can use the Heliopan 46-62mm Step-Up Ring (#177) on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens (Black). With that you will than be able to use the same filters as the ones on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 7. Hi what is the outer diameter of this Step-up Ring?Actually I am looking for a Push-on lens cap...Any brand that you recommend, which fits?Thank you

A: Rather than a push-on cap, you will be better off using a Hood Hat type of covering, such as those seen at the following link: http://bhpho.to/1w9ZAZT

Q: 8. What is the thread pitch of the 43mm threads?

A: The thread pitch is not listed for this adapter. However it will allow you to use 52mm Filters on a 43mm Lens.

Q: 9. What is the outside diameter of this ring? Is it 100mm so that I can use a push on lens cap?

A: The outside diameter is around 97mm-98mm. A 100mm lens cap will be loose.

Q: 10. I need to mount a 62mm filter on a 72mm lens, do I need a step up ring or a step down ring?

A: You would need a 62mm to 72mm step down ring.

[45 mm to 48 mm] I have older version of Leica R 35/2 lens. It takes 48mm filters or I can use step-up rings for 52mm or any larger size filters. Well, the problem is that 48mm filters can be hardly found. If I did find them, they are very expensive. So I purchased 48-52mm step up ring by Heliopan that is what I review now. Heliopan step up rings are fantastic, because they are brass rings, not aluminum ones. They will not bind nor cross thread either. I have all sort of step up rings by B+W, but they are anodized aluminum. I don't trust their rigidity. Also they sometimes are stuck with filter rims, so binding is a real problem with any brand name step-up, -down rings as long as they are made from aluminum. Heliopan 48-52 mm ring is a bit heavy, but I like its solid feel and it gives me a worry free confidence from binding or cross thread. It will last than any filters or myself for that matter!

[45 mm to 48 mm] I am using this step up ring to put filters on my Panasonic LX100. The lens housing on the LX100 is roughly 58mm, so when I use this, its flush with housing. A really clean setup. I bought this instead of cheaper step up rings since this is made out of brass and I'll be swapping out filters frequently. It has worked great so far. Never a snag.

[Brass] Lets me use my 77mm filters on my Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro lens, which has a much smaller (67mm) filter size. It's a lot cheaper to buy one of these step-up rings than another full set of filters. The Heliopan screw seems well-made and has not locked up filters when I attach or remove them.
