Providing automated signal conversion from SDI to HDMI, the Marshall VAC-12SH 3G-SDI to HDMI Converteris a compact unit that supports converting video with embedded audio from SDI to HDMI with embedded audio. It supports NTSC, PAL, HD, and 3G signals, and it auto-detects the input signal from conversion without requiring you to a select from dip switches or navigation menus.

The converter features two outputs: the converted HDMI signal output with embedded 48KHz audio and a loop-through 3G-SDI output. This allows you to use a display with an HDMI input to monitor your signal while maintaining an SDI signal path. Each output is re-clocked to preserve the maximum transmission distance of your signal. A 5 VDC power supply is included with the item.

Auto signal detection allows the device to function without your input; what goes in as SDI comes out as HDMI.

The unit supports audio embedded in the input SDI signal and re-embeds the audio in the HDMI output.

LED indicators for power and signal lock indicate that the unit has power and is receiving an active signal.

It's unlikely that the RG6 cable will work at longer distances. Q: 7. I'm trying to connect a Canon C70 (HDMI Out only) -- converter HDMI to SDI -- Blackmagic UltraStudio Extreme -- Mac running DaVinci Resolve (or other capture software), And then trigger camera record from the computer. Will this work? Will the capture signal be properly sent to the camera?

A: The Canon C70 would only output a signal from its HDMI port. So the signal would be converted by the Black Magic 12G converter from HDMI to 12G SDI, Then sent to the Ultrastudio Extreme input for recording. Yes it would allow you to record the output of the C70.

The key is the scanner/scaler and not just a media converter. Just wish the Syner-G tool could be run on a Mac which our studio is predominately composed of. 5

[75 ohms] We are using it to convert from a VGA adaptor / DA to a Black Magic Design switcher for webcast. Used the builtin menu to configure - Black Magic switcher would not show output till we used a separate monitor with variable inputs. 5

[8.8 oz / 250 g] Was tasked with getting various HD signals from a TV truck to the court side monitors for college basketball broadcasts. Initially had a budget throw down HD-DA's, but the cable length could be over 300 feet and the signal was intermittently dropping out. Installed the SC2030 and watched the signal clean up. Apparently, it is a reclocker, although not advertised as one. I have to deal with 720p59.94, 1080i59.94 and 1080p59.94 broadcasts. This UDC easily accepted these signals and I have set the Dips to 1080i59.94 to feed the Time Out Coordinator's monitors. The Eye Pattern of the signals is excellent with very little jitter detected. Normally, I would have purchased Decimater UDC's, but they are back ordered. I took a chance, since this is just monitor feeds and I am thrilled. I will buy more, if I need to feed monitors. They accept SDI and HDMI and output 2 x SDI and 1 HDMI. It's a budget swiss army knife converter. Good to have in your kit...because you never know when you'll have a flaky signal to clean up! 5
