Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this hold the 42x70 oval reflector in a vertical position?

A: I don't think so, the specs say up to 60. I think 70 would be too big for one reflector holder like this.

Q: 2. Can the light stand mount be positioned between the two clips or do the clips both have to be on the same side of the light stand mount? I'm thinking about possible options for holding a 5x7' collapsible background. Thank you.

A: I don't have any problems with it. But moving a clip to the counter balance side would require a major modification to it. Not easily done at all.

Q: 3. Will this hold a Profoto 33" collapsible reflector??

A: Yes, will support a 60inch reflector.

Q: 4. Can this hold a reflector in a manner that the reflector is inclined or angled? (ex. facing downwards at a certain degree)

A: I have been able to angle a reflector on this. I used the clips to clip on to the reflector and rotated the clips on the bar to achieve my angle wanted.

Q: 5. Do you need the 360 degree bracket to attach to a light stand?

A: You do not need to order anything extra to attach this to a lightstand.

Q: 6. Can the weight at the end be removed so the arm can be centered over the stand?

A: Yes, the weight is able to be taken off by simply unscrewing it.

Q: 7. Can I rotate clip 360 degrees? From the enlarged view I can see that the clip slides up and down the arm. I don't see anyway for the clips to rotate which is what I need.

A: The clip rotates 360

Q: 8. How wide do the clips open? I have some triangular manfrotto reflectors that have quite thick frames. Thank you.

A: Approximately one inch

Q: 9. Can anyone recommend the best light stand for this? Do I need a heavy duty one or can I use any light stand?

A: The heavier the better but I've used it successfully with cheap kit light stands. The counterweight location becomes more important with lighter duty stands to keep the stand from tipping. Larger reflectors on cheap stands work best if they're hung to provide horizontal fill. Heavier stands allow you to extend heavier reflectors and position them at any angle for clamshell lighting or product fill.

Q: 10. Can this be turned for horizontal position?

A: In the picture, its shown mounted on a grip head. You can rotate this holder in the grip head into whatever position you want. The Avenger D200 grip head in the picture is not included.

[Aluminum] Since I work with the poly holders I have saved some production assistents. Together with the c-stand it holds the poly very steady. Working on a lot of Caribbean Islands with a lot of wind this is a great solution for shooting with as much as possible available light. I would defenitily recommend this product.

[Black] I am very happy with this reflector holder. It is well made, locks in any position and will hold any foam board or reflector in it's size range. I would definitely buy this item again. No longer need an assistant.

[47 x 9.5 x 4.5"] Great item! This is my 3rd reflector holder and is by far the easiest to connect to a lightstand and the sturdiest in that the reflector and arm STAY in place! Used for volume headshots and was excellent, especially as I needed to adjust multiple times. The built-in counter weight makes it so solid.

[47 x 9.5 x 4.5"] This item is invaualbe and is better than anything else to hold Poly boards in place. The only problem is with my boards I need clamps as well to keep it firmly in place, but all in all, a great product

[Aluminum] This is very good quality. Sturdy with tight and connections. Doesn't wobble at all. The counter balance weight makes the setup very stable.

You pay just a couple dollars more for this model, but the price is still very competitive and the quality is well worth it. Of course, B&H customer service and shipping are always excellent.

If I ever need anymore, this is what I will be buying.

[8 lb] It's very useful, especially with large reflectors. One change I did make; by loosening the clamp on the second section, I was able to move the first clamp to the weighted side of the pivot, providing a more balanced support.

[8 lb] I just got mine in and while I admit I have not use it too much... I just wanted to say that these are solid. Bigger and more heavy duty than I thought from the photos. Built very well.

[47 x 9.5 x 4.5"] I have four of these that I connect with different rollable light stands. They are used to remove light, add light via different reflectors and cards.
It is so versatile.
