Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the one or both of the top tiers of the QL-623 be removed to make it a modular one-, two-, or three-tier stand? I would like to use three tiers at home but then just gig with one or two, depending on the rig.

A: Yes you don't have to remove them. Just don't put them on.

Q: 2. Is the height adjustable on this stand? If so, how high does it adjust to?

A: The Quiklok MS/332 is height adjustable from 29.5 to 50.8 .

Q: 3. Is it possible to put this tripod on a dolly ? If yes what model would work best ?

A: Yes, you can use this tripod on a dolly. For example, you could use the Davis and Sanford W4DS.

Q: 4. Where is this Boom manufactured?

A: This product is manufactured in China.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions of the wooden desk ?

A: 21 1/2 inches long x 14 inches

Q: 6. It says that the wooden desk is removable for storage/transportation purposes. When removed from the stand, is the desk able to stand on it's own if I wanted to use it as a desktop stand? See the following product as a reference: B&H # MA5301120965

A: No. the desk portion requires the stand for support. Removing it from the stand is to facilitate storage or transportation only.

Q: 7. best 100mm head to use?

A: I am using the tripod to support a Cobra heavy camera crane and only use a rotation joint which is Frie??? 90brand capable of 90 pound load. For camera use you need a regular head. Don't go cheap as you want performance and 90% of that is in the head.I have another tripod which has the Manfroto fluid head... expensive but they are really nice.

Q: 8. Is this stand collapsible? Does it come with a bag to transport it?

A: Yes, the stand is collapsible to 53.8". It does not included a bag for transporting it. You could use the Ultimate Support Bag-99D Heavy-Duty Padded Tote Bag - for Two TS-99 or TS-88 Speaker Stands (B&H # ULBAG99D) which has interior dimensions of 14.5 x 60.5". That should give you enough space for the wheels and cables too.

Q: 9. Will this work for a Rode video mic pro? I want to have it above the person standing, just out of the video shot. What adaptor will I need to attach the Rode?

A: This microphone's camera shoe mount also has a 3/8 thread at the bottom to allow mounting on tripods and boom-poles. Use this adapter: WindTech M-1 5/8 -27 Female to 3/8 -16 Male Thread Adapter for Microphone Mounts and Stands B&H # WIM1A

Q: 10. I am looking for a boom mic stand that will fit a Rode NTG-1 condenser shotgun microphone. I plan to use this mic to do sit-down interviews for a documentary film. Will this product fit a Rode NTG-1 condenser shotgun microphone? If not can you suggest ones that will?

A: The On-Stage MS9701TB+ features a 5/8 threading that is compatible with most standard mic clips ( not included ). The Rode NTG-1 does ship with a stand clip that is compatible with this stand.

[Screw-Knob] How sweet. Yeah you can go simple, standard metal, but the wood is just beautiful to look at. There is no metal involved with the top piece. I thought it might of had a metal back, it does not. Good way to have equipment to look like a piece of furniture.

[Telescoping] A sturdy and handsome music stand at a great price. Highly recommended and superior to other manufacturers. The desk is larger than the standard metal stands, and it does not look like something that was used by the Army band before and repainted. Easy to put together and screws tighten to hold heavier loads. Very satisfied :-)

[5/8"-27 Male] This is a very nice stand. It includes a wooden top unlike most of the cheap metal stands. Super nice for the $$.

[Telescoping] I can leave this in any room of the house; it doesn't clash. The thick wooden area attracts attention, and the QuikLok tripod assembly helps me feel secure... this music stand will last a while and look good doing it!

[Screw-Knob] Looking for something nicer then a plain music stand. Wood grain is very nice. It is also quieter then the metal music stands for audio/video recording. Build quality seems pretty good.

[Tripod] It's a heavy duty mic stand. Very heavy but useful when you are using a long shotgun mic.
