Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you need any additional parts to mount a rode mic?

A: This has a standard 5/8" thread that will accept any microphone clip that is designed for studio use. If you are asking about a microphine built for video or on camera use you may need an adapter.

Q: 2. Where is is it made?

A: This K&M product is manufactured in Germany.

Q: 3. Whats the difference between a K&M 210/8 and a 210/9 boom stand?

A: A 210/9 has almost entirely metal components. This is the best boom mic stand in my opinion, and B&H has the best price!

Q: 4. Will this work with PreSonus Revelator? If not, what other attachments are needed?

A: Yes, the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm Mic Stand with Table Clamp Mount can be used to support the PreSonus Revelator Dynamic USB Microphone.

Q: 5. Do I need an adaptor to attach a Shure MV7 microphone to this mic stand?

A: No. You just unscrew the included mic clip and screw on the MV7.

Q: 6. is this compatible with the K&M 237B Table Clamp (Black) ? BH #KM237B • MFR #23700-500-55

A: Yes. These two items are compatible. Be aware of the microphone and shock-mount weight.

Q: 7. I need to get a boom arm for video shoots but I have had bad experience with microphone stands. Is it possible to fit this arm on a light stand or does it only fit on a mic stand?

A: You will need an adapter bushing (B&H # AUADCOMBOS) to connect the two. The boom has 5/8 female threads and your light stand probably has either 1/4 or 3/8 male threads.

Q: 8. Can this kit be hung upside down safely when clamped to ceiling rigging?

A: No, the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm Mic Stand with Table Clamp Mount is not intended to be mounted upside down. The tension screw that secures the arm in the clamp may not be capable of supporting the weight of a microphone and any accessories when it is mounted upside down.

Q: 9. Is the pivot mount steel or plastic?

A: In 2014, when I bought mine, the mount was steel. I cannot guarantee that they still are today, but mine have been very durable and solid.

Q: 10. Does the legs can unscrew and disconnect? I want to connect table clamp to it

A: No, the legs on the Auray MS-65CL Professional Mic Stand do not unscrew and disconnect. Perhaps you may want to check out the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm Mic Stand with Table Clamp Mount (B&H # AUMSDTCL32) for a mic stand with a boom arm and table clamp.

[Black] It's just the right length for my application. I have a tight working area for audio. I have the boom on a microphone stand behind the rack and it comes through from the back, so that the microphone is positioned directly over the mixer. Plenty of adjustments make it fit almost any application.

[Black] Perfect compliment to the AirTurn mic stand...

[1.565 lb] This is a quality boom arm you can depend on. Other lower priced boom arms tend to droop over time with heavier mics like the RE20, Stam SA87, or Rode K2. This one won't. There is a competing On-Stage all steel boom arm that seems just as good for a lower price but the long term durability remains to be seen. This one I trust with my most expensive mics (Neumann and Brauner) for now.

[1.565 lb] This is a very good boom arm that I have screwed on top of my light stand for podcasts. Super high quality with loads of good features.

Pros:
+ Pretty solid friction force. So good that I didn't even have to put a counter-weight on my stand.
+ Easy to use knobs for rotation and extension.
+ Clip for holding xlr cables
+ High-quality build

Cons
- Definitely a shorter arm

I've been using this for a few months at this point and it has not disappointed. I highly recommend this product.

[1.565 lb] I had several Quik Loc stands that needed new booms. These were just what I needed to replace the old booms rather than buy new stands!

[Steel] This is a rock solid boom made with the best German engineering and quality metal that we all come to expect. There is nothing negative about this product.

[5/8"-27 Male] This is a fantastic telescoping boom arm, suitable for all needs. Made in Germany, built to last. Replaces Onstage arms that just aren't anywhere near as nice. The nickel version of this K&M arm is ridiculously hard to find, though! So props to B&H for carrying this item. I use these short telescoping arms for my Atlas round base stands, and I was afraid that I would have to get black arms for my chrome stand. Atlas chrome and K&M nickel aren't exactly a match, but they match enough. Very happy with this product.

[Black] A nice, low cost unit. Its a light weight unit that's good for traditional mics that are also reasonable weight (SM57/58, Audix OM2, etc).
I plan to purchase a few more.

[Black] Great addition.

[Steel] Can't imagine why would anybody want to spend 5 - 10 times more for the same product. It is a commodity, like a door stopper. Anything would do the job. Then again, not being a pro I might not appreciate some fine nuances. For me, it does everything I need it to do.
