Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you put a blue yeti mic on it?

A: Yes, the Phottix AR35 Desktop Boom Arm Stand will support the Blue Yeti USB Microphone.

Q: 2. Can I use two K&M 21105 counterweights on the same boom arm? Is there a hole at both ends to allow for this?

A: yes. I am using 2 on one arm. and there is another trick. if your arms are just a bit thick, you can pop out the plastic liner. I like these, it's hard to find good counterweights these days.

Q: 3. IS there a deeper clamp available for desks with a beveled edge?

A: The O.C. White Ultima 4-Way Modular Clamp Assembly for Ultima ULP Microphone Boom (B&H # OCULPCLAMP) looks like it is deeper and heavier than the Samson clamp. The inside diameter of the hole on the O.C. White clamp is 17mm. Here is a link for the manufacturer's info page: https://www.ocwhite.com/product/ultima-ulp-clamp/

Q: 4. What is the thread size? What is the depth of of the female thread?

A: The only female thread on this item is that of the screw-down mechanism (thumb screw) mentioned in the overview and clearly pictured. Those threads are M6x1.0 and about 17mm deep. They extend to the large central hole at the center of the cylinder but the end of the thumb screw does not bear directly against the boom arm. It instead bears against a plastic liner pressed into that central hole which prevents scratching the finish of the boom arm.

Q: 5. Does this arm have adjustable retention? I'm planning to use it with a mic that only weighs about 1/4lb

A: The Samson MBA38 does not have adjustable retention.

Q: 6. What is the diameter of the flange mount?

A: We have requested this information from the manufacturer but accurate measurements are not readily available. We will post the details once we receive them.

Q: 7. Can I/How would I change the threaded portion to 1/4"-20?

A: You can use a thread adapter like the CAMVATE 5/8" Female to 1/4"-20 Male Mic Stand Adapter (B&H # CAC0988) to convert the post to attach an item that requires a 1/4"-20 thread.

Q: 8. What is the inside diameter of the hole through the counterweight or equivalently the outside diameter of the boom arm this is designed to slide over ?

A: The K&M 21105 Counter Weight is designed for use on one-piece K&M boom arms with a 3/8" male thread or a tube diameter 0.6" (15mm). The Counter Weight itself is made of steel, has a height of 2.36" (60mm), a diameter of 1.97" (50mm), and weighs 28.2 oz. (0.8 kg).

Q: 9. What is the max mic weight this can handle?

A: This product has a 5 lb. maximum weight capacity.

Q: 10. How long is each arm?

A: About 19 inches.

[Black] Microphone stands are workhorses that simply must have solid construction or a gig can be destroyed if one fails. The 252 is compact (a necessity for a traveling musician) and sturdy. I've tried stands by other companies and none are anywhere as good as this one is.

[Tripod] These are so great. It's nice that they are not as heavy as the ones with the metal bases. I also find that the ones with the metal bases tend to break easier in cases. So this does the trick. It's great for guitar amps, kick drums, etc. Just tall enough to get the job done. Great work K&M, and nice job B&H for having good taste and selling K&M stuff. Over and out. - The Review Dude

[Screw-Knob] This stand has three vertical sections, and is short enough for a spot mic on a bass or cello, or a piano on half-stick without removing the boom, yet tall enough for a singer or an overhead spot mic on a seated musician. This stand has a heavy base for good stability, even with the boom extended. I have other short stands, but none are as flexible as the K&M 252.

[Tripod] Great for mics on kick, snare, guitar amps, ac guitar , etc. Really built well. Not going to break or slip like some other stands.

[6.75 lb] K&M stands are the best. they last a long time, the parts don't wear out. They are all I buy.

[Telescoping] The K&M 252 has proven to be my favorite microphone stand. I ended up buying six of them. I work strictly mobile, and never know exactly what situations I will encounter. The 252 has 3 sections in the base and two in the boom. I can place a mic near the floor, or high enough above a seated musician for a spot mic. I can record a piano on half-stick without removing the boom, or high and low over the strings. The stand is surprisingly heavy, which lends great stability when the boom is extended.

[6.75 lb] I have another K&M stand and theses stands are built tough. I bought this one because I sit at a keyboard and this stand can be adjusted lower. It also folds down to fit in my gear bag.

[Telescoping] I sit on the floor to play - the height adjustability & durability of this stand is great!

[Telescoping] This two-section stand is perfect for a wide variety of applications, from piano to vocalist to solo instruments. It is short enough to mic a piano with the cover on half-stick, without removing the boom, and tall enough to mic a piano with a typical high/low pair of mics. It has a heavy base and good leg circle to prevent tipping. It's worth the extra money for a heavy duty stand.

[Screw-Knob] Very strong and sturdy. Enough weight to keep it in place on stage. I expect that it will last longer than the budget mic stands.
