Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the cold shoe simply screwed in to a 1/4 spigot? Can the cold shoe be removed and replaced with a different cold shoe of my choice?

A: Yes. It is in a standard 5/8 spigot. Very handy for off camera flash.

Q: 2. can the cold-shoe be removed to mount the Phottix Varos H-Mount Plate? Thanks

A: Yes, the Phottix Varos H-Mount Plate has a stud that swaps out with the cold-shoe very easily.

Q: 3. Can I mount a https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/32267-REG/Lowel_T1_10_Tota_Light_Tungsten_Flood_Light.html to this? I'm looking for something I can mount both the light and umbrella to, and angle them both together.

A: Yes this will work for that.

Q: 4. is this compatible with Yongnuo speedlight?

A: Yes it is compatible with all the flashes since it is cold shoe, and a very nice build.

Q: 5. Can this hold a large umbrella. e.g. 60 or bigger?

A: Yes this bracket can be used to hold an umbrella 60 or larger.

Q: 6. i saw pictures online that the flash is mounted flat on the mount. Can the flash be mounted on the side? in order words the narrow part of the flash against the flat surface of the mount.

A: Yes. You can rotate the flash around in the holder. This will allow using the flash head pivot to point the light UP, Down, or left or right sides.

Q: 7. Will this accept Sony flashes? I bought a universal flash bracket and my sony flash shoe (Godox tt685s) doesn't fit nicely in the flash bracket.

A: I think it would fit but not 100% certain because I have never seen a TT685s up close...I found some images of TT685s foot on google...its a little hard to tell just by looking at a picture. The only thing i can say is that generally speaking this holder will hold onto pretty much any flash ...because it has a clamp at the top...with a screw on the side. Regardless of flash brand it should hold on to the foot of the flash.

Q: 8. can you stack two flashes on top of each other like with the parabolix horizontal speedlight adapter?

A: Yes but the included strap wouldn't work. You'd have to make your own velcro strap or use velcro or rubber bands to secue the otherflash.

Q: 9. will this work on Paul Buff LS-3900 light stands?

A: If they have typical stud.... Yes it will work.

Q: 10. How do you remove the metal insert at the bottom?

A: Loosen the knob and push the metal button. It should fall out.

[0.325 lb] I bought one of these about 2 years ago not realizing just how versatile it really is.

I've since used to for off-camera flash and speedlites, umbrella mount, and even for a 2nd camera mount.

It's a very heavy duty item that will likely outlast anything else I own.

I highly recommend it.

[0.325 lb] Great bracket for holding the flash without relying on hot shoe. Elastic Velcro strap holds flash flat against rubber pad, leaves shoe on flash open to attach trigger. Feels so much more secure and safe than relying on shoe.

[0.325 lb] Just put a thin cork plate on top and you won’t have any issues more. It will hold flash firmly. Cork is soft and strong. Gitzo use it on their tripod mounting plates.
