Delivering a level of performance often associated with much larger enclosures, the Genelec 7350A SAM (Smart Active Monitoring) Subwoofer is an 8", 150W active subwoofer, well suited for discerning professionals in music, post, film, and broadcast. The 7350A combines the Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) technology with AutoCal and GLM control network technologies. Genelec's AutoCal allows the unit to automatically align multiple subwoofers for level, timing, crossover phase, and equalization of room response anomalies. Providing extended low-frequency performance, accurate tonal characteristics, and high dynamic capabilities, the 7350A supports a distributed bass management architecture.

This subwoofer offers 5.1 channel analog XLR inputs and outputs together with stereo AES/EBU XLR inputs and outputs without the need for additional external AD converters. The 150W Class-D amplifier unit is integrated into the enclosure and contains DSP crossover filters, driver overload and protection circuitry. The Genelec 7350A is the low-frequency monitoring tool for music studios, mobile vans, digital workstations, radio and TV broadcasting, providing remarkable sound clarity, definition, and neutrality.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are they paired

A: These studio monitors are sold as single units. If you purchase two, you can feel very confident that they will sound identical.

Q: 2. This item shows up when filtering for AES inputs. But that seems incorrect. Does it have AES?

A: This unit does not include AES inputs. AES inputs are available on the 8330 and larger.

Q: 3. What cable do I need to connect it to my laptop? It has USB A & C ports.

A: You'll need to hook them up with xlr cables to an external soundcard, like a recording interface, that can send a balanced analog signal. The inputs of of the 8010s accept analog XLR connections. An interface or mixer that has XLR or 1/4" TRS outputs will connect to these with ease

Q: 4. does it come with the white version?

A: unfortunately, Genelec F One 6.5" 40W Active Subwoofer (White) is no longer available.

Q: 5. Can I connect two of these speakers to a Scarlett Solo Preamp?

A: Yes, a pair of Genelec 8020D Studio Monitors can be used alongside and receive signal from a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface with the proper cabling. The Hosa Technology Balanced 1/4" TRS Male to 3-Pin XLR Male Audio Cable (BH #HOHSX005) is an example of the type of cable required to feed each speaker: https://bhpho.to/3R26bkP

Q: 6. Is this a good monitor for everyday use on a computer with built-in sound card and 1/8" to dual XLR splitter cable?

A: The Genelec 8020D Studio Monitor (Producer Finish) is an excellent choice for everyday monitoring, and it can be used with your computer's built-in sound card if an audio interface or monitor controller is not an option.

Q: 7. DOES IT HAS ACCURATE SOUNDING

A: Yes. The 8331A SAM studio monitor is designed for professional monitoring applications that require precision and accuracy. Using Genelec's SAM technology, Smart Active Monitors have several parametric notch and shelving filters that can be tuned automatically using the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software to exactly compensate for colorations generated by room acoustics. This enables SAM monitors to sound neutral and achieve accurate stereo imaging in all acoustical environments.

Q: 8. Can these monitors be paired with a non-Genelec subwoofer without trouble?

A: Yes, you can pair a non-Genelec subwoofer with the 8020D monitors.

Q: 9. Do I get a pair if i make this purchase?

A: You have to order 2 to get a pair.

Q: 10. What's the difference between this (besides color) and https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1542976-REG/genelec_f1bwm_f_one_subwoofer_white.html ?

A: The white one also has coaxial and optical digital options, which the black one does not have.

[45.3 lb] I bought the 8010's to have some portability when traveling and producing electronic music. They have a roll off at 65 HZ, just where bass gets beefy. Considering the size of the 8010's they do an excellent job in the mid and high frequency range...but they seriously lack in the deep end. I have since supplemented them by adding the 7040A and the difference is astounding. Yes, this sub has weight to it, isn't exactly small and the idea of portability is somewhat limited now but I'd do what is necessary to bring this baby along for the ride. I'm talking fullness across the board when combined with the 8010's that could well stand up to my home studio near fields.

[45.3 lb] I have been mixing in the professional environment for over 30 years. I mostly do film and have a small editing suite in my house. This is the perfect addition for a small mix room to accurately monitor low end frequencies. It will keep you from being surprised when your films or videos, show and play on big systems!
You won't be sorry you bought this!

[0.005%] Yes, Genelec are pricey and yet, it's difficult to compare them to any other studio monitor.
The clarity and consistency of their reproduction is overwhelming.
I notice now details in songs I heard for many years, that I never noticed before.
Highly recommended.

[+24 dBu] The 8030C is a fine speaker but it struggles below 90Hz and is hopeless below 60. The 7050C works perfectly with a pair of 8030C. Setting up the phase and sensitivity took maybe 5 minutes. Getting it out of the box took longer. If you have a set of Genelec monitors, especially the 8030 or smaller models, this sub is a no-brainer.

[104 dB] I have this subwoofer paired with the Genelec 8020D's. It is a perfect match. It provides accurate punchy base, but not overpowering. My listening area is in a corner, but with the provided adjustment dip switches in the back I was able to tailor the bass to my liking.

[Black] I sold my Barefoot Footprint 01 for this sub and a pair of 8330A and 7350A sub and I couldn't be happier! Let me explain why I made this decision.
In the recent months, Sonarworks' SoundID Reference has gotten increasingly unreliable on my M1 Max Mac to the point of constantly having to troubleshoot it. On top of that, the Barefoots have shown some issues producing accurate low end in my small-ish mixing space and I knew that having an independent sub will help a great deal with low-end precision.

Another big deal is GLM, Genelec's own speaker calibration and management system that costs pretty much the same as SoundID BUT is natively integrated in the speakers, gets free updates, allows for MIDI yard stream deck control, and pretty much means that you'll NEVER need a monitor controller again - unless you're planning to get another pair of speakers that aren't part of Genelec's SAM series.

This added value and piece of mind, Genelec's sustainability approach, the 8330s having lower overall distortion than the Footprints, and my low-end now extending all the way to 21 Hz at -1 dB (almost an extra octave compared to the Footprints) all mean that this is pretty much as good as it gets for a sub $4k set of speakers.

the 7350 does an awesome job at extending the 8330A's low-end without making itself known and the automatic phase alignment, variable bass mgmt frequency, GLM, and 7+LFE channel bass management I/O are unmatched at this price.

The ultimate cherry on top is that all the integrated technologies mean that the eventual upgrade to a Dolby Atmos system just means getting more speakers... no extra subs, monitor controllers, etc. My wallet sure appreciates the GLM ecosystem

[+24 dBu] My studio is small, so this is plenty of low end to complement my 8320A tops. The extension down to 22 Hz helps me clean up LF content I wouldn't have noticed on my old monitors. GLM is fun and easy to use. My latest mixes are holding up really well out in the wild!

[45.3 lb] I've been using Genelecs in my edit suite for over 23 years and I've never purchased a sub until recently. Mixing for broadcast, the sub is overkill, right? WRONG! It make mixes come alive and my clients love the added fullness.

[Single Monitor] I spent a long time looking into various 5.1 surround bass management solutions that would work with regular Windows audio as well as audio through a DAW for studio and game development use. There are various software solutions for each, but most would not give consistent results between Windows system and DAW audio.

I started looking for either a bass management hardware unit (some add latency) or a surround controller with bass management (way more expensive than this sub), then came upon the few Genelec subwoofers which have built-in surround bass management.

I only have a 5.1 surround system so I chose this sub, and am happy I did so. While the cost is higher than I would like, there aren't that many other subs that handle surround bass management, and it handles both bass management and LFE duties well. The manual is comprehensive, and there are little switches and a knob on the side that allow you to customize rolloff, boosts, power saving, 4 phases, and sensitivity.

Noise floor is very low, and it pumps out enough oomph for my calibrated small home studio even with the largest rolloff as well as the lowest input sensitivity. I'm not using it to shake the house, but rather to hear the lowest frequencies correctly while mixing and listening to all kinds of stuff. It's also smaller than some other subs, and that's a plus for my room as well.

I don't really have anything to complain about for this sub other than Genelec's pricing, but since there are few subs that handle surround bass management and I didn't find any cheaper than this, it is what it is. Great product.

[0.005%] I am a video editor and I use these with 8010's and I couldn't be happier. They bring my projects to life. I am totally sold on Genelecs and I will be buying bigger and better speakers from them when it makes sense. This simple setup with the Apogee Duet connected to my Mac Pro is more than i need but everything that I want. Being able to immerse yourself in your project is very important to making it he best it can be. Having sound as punchy and clear as this is integral to finding my creative flow state.
