Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this adapter wired for Lectrosonics Servo wiring, or Universal wiring?

A: This specification is not published by DPA, but available upon request. The DPA DAD3056 uses universal wiring and is listed to work with all LM, SM and UM series transmitters. Should you have an M185 wireless system, this adapter will not work. You will need the DAD6012.

Q: 2. Kindly is this adapter compatible with the Sennheiser SK 5212 II? Thank you

A: Yes, the DPA DAD6003 MicroDot to 3-pin Lemo Connector is compatible for use with the Sennheiser SK 5212-II wireless transmitter.

Q: 3. so this is the adapter needed for "DPA Microphones 4560 CORE Binaural Headset Microphone" when connecting to Zoom F3?

A: Since there are two Microdot output connectors on the DPA Microphones 4560 CORE Binaural Headset Microphone, two of the DPA Microphones DAD6001 Microdot to 3-Pin XLR Adapters are required to connect the DPA 4560 mic to the XLR inputs on the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder. You will need to turn on phantom power for the two inputs on the recorder for the mics to receive power.

Q: 4. How do you remove the belt clip?

A: The clip on the DPA Microphones DAD6001 Microdot to 3-Pin XLR Adapter can be physically removed by sliding the clip component upwards towards the MicroDot connection.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Audio ltd A10

A: Currently, Audio LTD is unavailable at B&H- and so we cannot test this combination. However, the DAD6003 should work based on available documentation on the A10 wireless system. On A10-TX, the ground is not terminated to the pin as is the case with the Sennheiser SK transmitters that feature a 3 pin Lemo.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Sound Devices A10/A20 transmitters?

A: Yes. This DPA Microphones DAD6003 Microdot to 3-Pin LEMO Adapter will work for connecting microphones with the microdot connector to SoundDevices A10 or A20 transmitters.

Q: 7. would phantom power from a cinema camera power this microphone unit or would you need mixer/recorder?

A: Yes, this will work with any pre-amp that supplies 12v - 48v. If your camera has the option to switch the Phantom down to 12v, you should do so and save a little battery life.

Q: 8. Can anyone comment on low frequency or bass sounds recording off piano? The solitary youtube comparison video makes this system sound anemic compared with Earthworks. Thnx

A: If you were comparing these to the Earthworks PM40 Piano system, you may be hearing more resonance in the PM40's lows due to its extended low frequency range. The PM40 can pickup as low as 9hz, where as the DPA's low's start at 80hz.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with a Wisycom MTP61?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Wisycom MTP61 and is a great combination!

Q: 10. How does one go about the actual wiring process between the microdot connection and the xlr?

A: Simply plug the microdot on one end, and the XLR on the other, the adapter is inside.

[0.015 lb] This little adapter allows the great DPA 4099 clip on microphone to be used wireless with a number of systems. In my case I'm using it with the Shure PGX14 system. It does everything it's supposed to do so I am completely satisfied.

[0.015 lb] It would be nice if they provided a battery powered phantom power connector option, but this adapter will let you connect your DPA microphone to any recorder.

[0.015 lb] I've upgraded my wireless mic lavalieres to DPA 4061's. On a recent shoot my wireless transmitters--which were fine during set-up--failed minutes before a two person interview. The following week I ordered several DPA XLR adapters to serve as a safety net so I could wire the 4061 lavalieres directly to the mixer. I'm now in the habit of using these XLR adapters on a regular basis unless if there's a wide shot where the cables might show. Peace of mind . . . well worth the price.
