Expanding on their line of panels, the Dracast Plus Series LED500 Daylight Light Panelfrom Dracast Plus Series LED500 Daylight Light Paneladds a digital display for adjusting output as well as Cat 5 DMX input and output for linking and comes with both Gold mount and V-mount battery plates. The light features 512 LEDs with a high CRI of 95 for excellent color accuracy. Also, this model has a daylight-balanced color temperature of 5600K for matching with natural light and other fixtures.

The lights offer a spot beam angle of 45°, as well as dimming from 0-100%. Benefiting operation, it can run from either a DC source, such as a Gold mount or V-mount battery, or a universal 100-240 VAC adapter. The light is durable as well, with an aluminum chassis, frame, and mounting yoke, and it only consumes 30W of power. Additionally, it is lightweight at just 4 lb and measures 12 x 6 x 2" in size.

Q: 1. Can I mount this Dracast LED500 Plus Series Bi-Color LED Light to the hot shoe of a Canon XF200 camcorder, with or without any additional mounting hardware, or does it have to be mounted/secured on a stand?

A: Unfortunately, this light is not recommended for on-camera use due to the weight. It is recommended for use on a light stand.

Q: 2. What would be some average camera settings for LED500 daylight at 6 feet, with an ISO 400? I would think that at 3 feet, it would gain 2 F-stops?

A: I cannot answer that question directly, having no experience in actuatlly taking photographs with our lights, as opposed to just knowing how they work. However, I can tell you that at six feet, a daylight LED500 should be able to produce 1550 Lux, or 144 Fc. Q: 6. Can I use this light as a key light for interviews?

A: Its very possible. It would depend on the amount of ambient light and camera settings.

Q: 7. Does the battery get charged from being on when the unit is using AC so then you can use it outdoors? I don't see any cable to hook to battery directly.

A: You have to charge the battery separately to use it remotely, it does not charge while on the light. You can use AC plugged directly into the unit for powered use however.

Q: 8. so there are no pop in gels or barndoors included correct?

[Yes] This is so good, I'm saving to buy two more instead of a 1000. I like the versatility of having several lights instead of a big one. Also, be smart, the Daylight is more powerful than the bi color, so get the daylight and gel it if you need to go 3200K.� �I recommend buying the filter holder that goes with it. 5

[CRI 95] I was finding something similar to Dracast and ended up taking this product. I should say that it is a great lighting for professional work and works superbly. I was looking for a panel which was easy to carry and then someone told me to buy these. It was an awesome experience altogether. This light has a high CRI and a perfect color. Will surely recommend it to all. 5

[Daylight] We use these lights for film and music video shooting and they work flawlessly. They're very lightweight, they give off little heat, and they're punchy. Aligned at certain positions, you can even light up a big space. They're so bright that dimming it to the right temperature will be a relief on the talents' eyes. As for the stands, you don't need to sandbag them as they're completely sturdy. I recommend this kit if you're on a small budget and need to be portable. The time and opportunity cost has been dramatically reduced since using this kit. Meanwhile, the lights perform extremely well and there's not much re-touching required in post-editing. 5

[Proprietary] I own 3 daylight units. Each of them ranges from 5150-5350K. None are 5600K. All have the same slight green tint, which doesn't really have to be corrected (a 1/8th minus green was too magenta). 5

[CRI 95] I purchased this light after a videographer friend of mine recommended it as it is lightweight and portable so I am able to take it with me to different photo shoots. I must say, I am pretty impressed. The color accuracy is spot on unlike my other LED panel I had before this. The lighting I get from this daylight is as close to natural sunlight as it gets. With it's consistent color temp and lightweight / portable features I must say this is the best light I have gotten my hands on to this day. Looking forward to purchasing another one as a back up for shoots. 5
