Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the U-A accommodate a lens that is not threaded (wide angle fish eye) or are the threads required for proper attachment?

A: It can accommodate a non threaded lens. Be sure your camera is warm and dry before it goes in the housing to reduce the chance of fogging.

Q: 2. Are there any cellular phones that would not fit into this bag?. Is width a consideration?

A: The Ewa-Marine WPC-4 Handy & Safe Waterproof Cellular Phone Pouch - for Mini Cell Phone up to 6.3" (16 cm) High, B&H # EWWPC4, supports phones that are up to 3.5'' in width.

Q: 3. size compatibility with Canon 50D?

A: For that model camera use the U-B series housings.

Q: 4. Does it fit a Nikon D5300?

A: Yes this housing will fit a d5300

Q: 5. Will this fit the Fuji Xt3 with 16-80mm (72mm thread)? BH overview says 67, specs say 72. Ewa marine's website says 67, but their drawing indicates 72. Can someone look at it and see if it is 72mm? thx.

A: No, the Ewa-Marine U-A Underwater Housing only works with filters up to 67mm in size. For 72mm you need the Ewa-Marine U-A100 Underwater Housing for DSLRs and Mirrorless Cameras, BH #EWEMUA100 (https://bhpho.to/3Jdj5M6). One can use step up rings for the smaller filter sizes.

Q: 6. Would this model fit a canon 5d mark ii?

A: the body will fit snugly but we reccomend the U-B housing for Professional sized bodies. a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/560924-REG/Ewa_Marine_EM_U_B_U_B_Underwater_Housing.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/560924-REG/Ewa_Marine_EM_U_B_U_B_Underwater_Housing.html/a if you use lenses with a 77 or 82 mm thread size then you would need the U-B100

Q: 7. Will this work with a Nikon D800 and what is the widest lens you can use? Will a 15mm work?

A: for the D800 i would use the U-BXP100. any lens that has a maximum 82mm filter thread will work. you always want to use the widest lens possible as there will in any underwater photography some vignetting.

Q: 8. Will a nikon d750 and sigma 35mm lens fit in this?

A: the d750 will fit in this housing without a battery grip if you have a battery grip or lenses with a larger diameter than 72mm i suggest using the U-B100 series of housings.

Q: 9. Will this work with my D800e?

A: I have use it with a canon 5D Mk III and worked fine, I guess will work with the nikon. The size are similar in those cameras.

Q: 10. Does the housing get in the frame if I used it with a wider lens like 25mm f/2.8 (on a Sony a7r ii)?

A: there will always be vignetting with wide angle lenses but with ewa marine housings this is minimized through connecting the lens to the front port with an adapter ring system.

[Sliding Seal] Watertight and big enough to hold a 580ex II flash with radio trigger. Cheaper option for small jobs rather than buying a dedicated housing

[10.3 x 6 x 0.4"] Decided to get this over cheaper alternatives mainly due to:1) optical glass for better image quality2) adaptor to hold front of glass against your lens which really help in preventing any vignetting I do have previous experience using sports housings by aquatech for sports photography and got this more for casual beach side usage. Overall, am very satisfied by the quality of the housing and the images produced out of it.

[Lanyard] This really is an amazing housing for the price. The first one I had I used I actually found in the basement at my parents house. It had been sitting there for 10+ years and I did a leak test, still worked, and I used it to do surf photography for the first time. It did eventually split open at the side, but I did catch it before going in the water. It lasted a good 6 months which was amazing because it was at least 10 years old. So I bought another one! I loved the second one for a long time and my mistake was leaving it in the car in the heat :-( It shrunk because it got too hot in my trunk, then when I put the camera in it, the housing was soft and the side split open. My fault here for sure. So I bought another one, hahahaha :-) Moral of the story here is to just continuously do water checks for your housing, it is soft housing so just be aware of not leaving it in your car for a day when you aren't using it, but this has been such an amazing an affordable option for me until I can buy a proper water housing. The only downside is it is too hard to change the settings once the camera is in the housing. So I use masking tape to keep my lens set at infinity, then I set my aperture and shutter speed depending on the light, sometimes auto if it's one of those days, and then just go for it! I have taken some amazing photos and love love love how much I've learned to get creative with my settings because of the restriction of being able to change it in the moment :-) It gets 5 stars because for a tenth of the price I get to create amazing photos and enjoy surf photography! I don't have to wait to spend 2500+ on a housing to do what I want :-) And as with any type of water housing, there is always a risk of ruining your camera. I already lost one camera to the sea :-) But the joy of ocean photography is so worth it so I'm willing to jump into the possibility of doing it again! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

[Sliding Seal] Perfect for those who want to shoot in rainy weather (maybe seizing an opportunity of some sort afforded by the rain). The cape is well constructed and transparent such that the dials and the display can still be clearly visible. I am happy to have utilized it to shoot in the rain while others have just to shy away. Many moments captured. In summary, an indispensable product for the diehard

[Sliding Seal] I went to Hawaii with the whole family, put my important documents, hotel card keys, credit cards, etc on this item and started swimming on the beach. This product is awesome, my whole items were kept secured, dry and neat. The plastic remained intact while I was swimming. I would recommend this practical product.

[Lanyard] This poncho is awesome! It fits perfectly over my Canon Rebel xsi, and it even has an opening on the top should you wish to attach your flash! If you are not attaching a flash, I would recommend perhaps putting a piece of electrical tape over the hole to prevent any rain from getting in. I'm so glad I don't have to use a plastic bag anymore! Love this camera poncho!

[Sliding Seal] Keeping in mind, that I would have needed two seperate housings for my EOS 5D and EOS 7D if I had opted for a hard housing.... I would have spent about 10x as much or more! And would have ended up with the same photographic results....

[0.3 lb] Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...
