A: I'd measure the outside diameter of the the step up with something accurate like vernier calipers or a micrometer. I purchased the 90mm push on Cap to fit a Schneider centre ND filter which I measured to be exactly 90mm outside diameter and the cap was a fairly tight fit.

A: Yes, it is indeed for the front diameter of the lens and not the focal length. This would be the correct lens cap for the XF 50mm f/2.0 R WR.

A: If the filter size of your lens is 55mm, then yes. Some took 55mm and some 52mm, it depends on the f/stop and the version of the lens.

[5 x 4 x 1"] I'm actually using this as a cap for my Nikon microscope eyepiece tube. Some older Nikon microscopes use this size, and this fits perfectly. I use these for many of my camera lenses as well, and it fits very well. They fit snugly, but not so snugly you can't get it off when you need to. These have to be one of my favorite caps. 5

[0.02 lb] I love the push on caps and after the filter these are the next items that go on all my lenses. They don't get lost. well made. and the pinch type that come with the lenses they are not used 5

[5 x 4 x 1"] These are nice and snug, and they fit perfectly!! Why couldn't Bushnell come up with these in the first place?! They're great... I recommend them wholeheartedly. They fit much better than the caps that originally came with the scope. 5
