The Heliopan Bay 3 KR 1.5 Skylight SH-PMC Filteris a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade. It is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The SH-PMC multi-coating provides a total of 16 coatings, 8 per side, for significant reflection reduction (below 0.2%) as well as dust and moisture repellence for easier cleaning.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Q: 1. The image for this particular filer is not a bay 3 filter for the 2.8 F Rolleiflex?

A: The first image for that model filter is not correct but it is a Heliopan Bay 3 UV SH-PMC Filter.

Q: 2. Thanks, but I would prefer a hard lens cap as it protects more and won't touch the lens while transporting. I did find a Sensei 105mm Clip-On Lens Cap (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/818347-REG/Sensei_lcc_105_105mm_Clip_On_Lens_Cap.html) -will this fit any 105mm filter?Also, B+W USA seems to have a 105mm filter cap. Do you have it for sale and will it fit any 105mm filter?

A: A 105mm clip-on cap will not fit on this filter, as there are no threads on the filter to clip the cap onto. We do not currently sell the 105mm filter cap from B+W, as they have discontinued their line of slim filters and it is no longer available to us.

Q: 3. Any problems with vignetting or .. for the Tamron 28-75 lens? Any problem putting on the Tamron lens cap?

A: The Heliopan 67mm SH-PMC Protection Filter is not a thin or slim filter so it is not recommended for a 28mm wide lens. Instead this B+W would be recommended: https://bhpho.to/3yhnsyE

Q: 4. Will this filter work with Nikkor 55-300 mm and Nikkor 18-55 mm lenses?

A: This filter will be compatible with the 18-55 Nikon lens, however the 55-300mm lens has a 58mm filter thread.

Q: 5. Do you offer, or can you recommend a slip-on lens cap that will work with this filter? I am using this on a Nikon 28-70 AF-S lens (primarily).

A: Kaiser Slip-On Lens Caps would be great for this!

A: Yes, this filter comes with a plastic protection case.

Q: 7. Does it come with a plastic case?

A: The Heliopan 67mm SH-PMC Protection Filter will come in the plastic case/product packaging from the manufacturer. Separate filter cases are sold separately.

Q: 8. Are there any problems attaching a 67MM Tamron lens cap to this filter? Will it clip on correctly?

A: Yes, the Heliopan Series 8 UV Haze SH-PMC Filter does have 67mm front filter threads and it will hold well a 67mm Tamron lens cap.

Q: 10. What is the thickness of this filter?

A: It is not a slim filter - but that is what I love about Heliopan = their construction! A fine piece of German glass encased in a brass ring that won't stick or bind. These are the only filters I put on my lenses.

[Bay 3] With the demise of Rollei, getting items for our beloved 2.8F, GX or FX cameras get harder and harder. Here is a wonderful multicoated filter to protect the front surfaces of the Xenotars or Planars. Strong brass frames with nice matte black finish. These prevent the flares from the shiny metal bayonets that surround the lens on the camera. It is now a custom ordered item, so you will have to wait about 6 weeks for it to arrive. 5

[0.15 lb] Good anti-reflective coating. Still use a Skylight when using film, specially with E-6 process Kodaks. Brass holder doesn't gaul to aluminum threads like cheap aluminum holders. 5

[Bay 3] I bought the new Canon top-of-the-line video camera Vixia HF G-10 to use while on vacation on a sail boat at sea and needed a filter to protect the lens from the environment while not compromising the performance of the superb Canon optics. The next best high quality protective filter promised up to 98% light transmission while the Heliopan SH-PMC offered 16 layers of multicoating which gave 99.5% of light transmission. 5

[Bay 3] I always used a skylight filter outdoors with Kodachrome and the results were noticeable. I've recently started using color negative film in medium format and 35 mm and bought this filter for that purpose. The quality of the glass is extremely important for me, and this Schott glass is the best quality skylight filter I have found. 5

[Bay 3] Nicely made. Heavy brass ring is low profile. So smooth going on, tightens gradually with feel. Multicoated on both sides, should be optically excellent. Expensive, sure, but so's my lens and now I won't worry about the slightest degradation in optical performance. I get the Skylight (slightly colored) version just because I always have since way back in the days of film, so now all my filters are consistent. I would be very surprised if the color or anything about this filter causes the slightest noticeable degradation of anything. 5

[Multi Coated] Not a lot to elaborate on. The filter is very well made, I especially like that it's brass rather than aluminum. What I was looking for was one very high quality filter to use on all my lenses that would impair the image quality the least and provide protection. When I first received it I held it up in front of my eyes to compare looking through the filter vs my naked eye. I know this isn't a very accurate way to compare so take this as you will, but the filtered image looked sharper, less glare and contrastier colors than without. Go figure. All in all a great filter, but an expensive one. 5
