Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this microphone sound any better with the GLDX 14 than the BLX 14? We commonly have music playing and want to make sure our instructor's voice is clear and retains a dynamic profile.

A: The Shure SM31FH Fitness Headset Condenser Microphone will sound the same with both wireless systems. The PA that you are connecting the wireless mic system and music to will most likely have more of an affect on the clarity of the sound.

Q: 2. HelloDoes the microphone includes Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable - 18?

A: What'sIn the Box:Shure VP88 - Cardioid Stereo Condenser MicrophoneFoam WindscreenSwivel-Stand AdapterMulti-Connector Y-Cable: Included 'Y' cable with 5-pin female XLR connector on microphone end, 2x 3-pin male XLR connectors on equipment ends 6V BatteryZippered Carrying/Storage BagLimited 2-Year Warranty

Q: 3. What could I use for wind protection for this? Something like a rycote is preferred.

A: If being used on stereo bar for a Spaced Pair or ORTF setup, you could use two of the Rycote Baby Ball Gag's and their additional windjammers, B&H # RYBBG20 and BH #RYBBGWJ. If looking to do an XY inside of a blimp, the closest option we offer is the Rycote Stereo Cyclone Kit 1,B&H # RYCXYK1. However please note it is sized for a 3'' in length mic and the KSM are 5.75'' and may not fit properly.

Q: 4. Is there any solution to get it connected to a computer via USB or 3.5 mm jack?

A: To connect the Shure SM35 Performance Headset Condenser Microphone (TA4F) to a computer, you would need an audio interface such as B&H # FOSSOLO4G. Consumer audio interfaces do not have TA4 inputs, so you would also need the Shure RK100PK Preamplifier (B&H #SHRK100PK) to convert the microphone's output to XLR.

Q: 5. Everybody tells me that this mic is great for loud environments. I could use that. But what's the max SPL?

A: 148db with pad

Q: 6. Is this the standard xlr connection or the mini xlr?

A: This headset come with a mini XLR and a standard XLR adapter. I love this headset because I can use it with my wireless body transmitter and also use it pulgged in to my mixer. It does require phatom power when used with a mixer.

Q: 7. Does this microphone come with a receiver box? I didn't see in the IN THE BOX .

A: The Shure SM31FH Fitness Headset does not include a transmitter or receiver. However the connector hardwired to this unit is compatible with all current Shure wireless systems, and is also offered as a complete package with transmitter and receiver. a href= http://bhpho.to/1sUWR6a target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1sUWR6a/a

[10 x 4.9 x 3.4"] I researched many lower cost, large diaphragm condensers and heard Ken Callait recommend the SM27. I planned to purchase it myself, but my wife bought it for me as a Christmas gift, and I've already had the chance to use it on a variety of sources. It is clear and pristine sounding. It works very well on percussion elements, acoustic guitars, and works well for certain types of vocals. I'd find it a little too clean and pretty sounding for rock vocals or anything where an indie vibe is the aim, but if clarity and pure translation are what you want, this mic really delivers. The packaging is nice (I got the version with the shockmount and velveteen case), and it's obviously of solid build quality. Well worth the price tag.

[None] I record a lot of live mostly classical music concerts and recitals. I've got a panoply of microphones and wouldn't you know it my mainstay Schoeps had to go off for repairs to Germany (a 2 month turnaround at best). I also own an old pair of KSM 137, (which are TERRIFIC mics) but I dropped one, so it is also out for repair (Shure's turnaround maybe a week!). With one final concert before the end of the season I had no reliable SDC pair so decided to purchase these 141s and try them out in Cardioid ORTF in front of two vocalists. In comparison to the Schoeps or 137 or Neumann and by only one use there is a winner here that can tag along for spots, ambience or even mains. With the added choice for Omnis, which I have not tried yet, I am pretty confident the detail and trueness to sound and response should work out very well. I was told a while back by an old pro that the 137s and 141s are good substitutes for the Schoeps, the 141's similar to the MK5 capsules. Well worth it. My advice, don't drop your mics or pull out a live 48p cable! Power down and keep a steady hand.

[10 x 4.9 x 3.4"] While it may have been designed as a Video Production mic, the VP88 is a great all around stereo mic for concert productions. I have used it on acoustic guitar, marimba, vibes, bottle organs and 40 piece orchestra with CD quality results. The patterns all work and make a difference and it's easy to place and use. A great tool to have in your mic locker.

[Cardioid] I have three. I have a several other mics with better specs. Forget the specs and trust your ears. The VP88 sound is uncolored - which bothers a lot of people. The sound field is perfect, which bothers a lot of people. Only problem is a bit of built in noise, I can't deny that. I do a lot of drive-by live recordings with built in ambient noise, so this is no problem for me. If you need to have a mic that sets up in seconds and has almost no coloration, try it, you'll like it.

[Solid-State] The voice sounds very bassy. Its pretty sensitive. Loved the fact that the shock mount came with it. Its well built. Its sensitive. When I monitor it I can hear sounds from far but when I use to for my calls like Zoom or teams, it just sounds great.

[Cardioid] I bought this mic to track vocals for podcasting and public radio and I am so glad I did. It easily competes with higher tier mics and when it comes to quality and durability, this mic exceeds expectations. I loved it so much that I bought another one for a friend.

Seriously. Buy this mic. And enjoy saving yourself hundreds, if not thousands.

[10 x 4.9 x 3.4"] After many years of haveing one VP88, I needed another stereo mic for my 2nd camera. Giving me the best audio in the field, it was a no brainer to get a 2nd one. I am so happy they still had this mic for sale. I own about eight different mic's and by far the VP88 is the best.

[Black] I bought this for our football stadium. We had a lavaliere mic for the ref and it was not working out well. Changed to the Shure SM31FH mic and all is great. I paired it with the Shure Wa360 In-Line Remote Mute Switch and all of the stuff works GREAT!!!!

[Solid-State] We have used this microphone for several years to capture the sound of a backstage orchestra and chorus for musicals in our community theater. The sound quality is excellent and the mike gives us quality audio.
