Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with another brand of transmitter? In other words, are there different protocols or a standard one for converting signals?

A: Sorry, but the Kramer HDMI over Twisted Pair Receiver B&H # KRPT572P can only be used with a dkgat product like the VM-114H4C, VM-1H4C or pt-571.

Q: 2. Does this unit pass HDR also?

A: No HDR pass-through is defined on this product.

Q: 3. Is the receiver required? I'm running directly to a projector that accepts HDbaseT as an input.

A: In theory, the Kramer TP-580T HDBaseT Twisted Pair Transmitter should produce the signal and not need the receiver.

Q: 4. Does this support 1920x1200?

A: Yes, the Kramer HDMI over Twisted Pair Receiver supports 1920x1200.

Q: 5. Would i need the receiver if i have a device that supports HDBT?

A: No, the Kramer PT-571 HDMI over Twisted Pair Transmitter will allow you to output HDBT signals directly to the device you are using that has HDBT input. You do not need a receiver.

Q: 6. is the extender IP based? is it able to be fed through a switch in its own VLAN? or does it have to be a direct connection on both ends?

A: My assumption is that it would need to be a direct connection. I have not tried it on a vlan. Based on the information on their site, it would need to be directly connected, as it seems to encode the signal and send it over the copper to be decoded at the other end by the receiver.

Q: 7. what is the max resolution that this will support?

A: This for HDMI, I.E 1080p.

Q: 8. Does this unit always require a power cable? Or could it be powered with a PoE/PoH receiver?

A: The Kramer TP-580TXR Extended Range HDBaseT Twisted Pair Transmitter does not support POE powering and would require the use of its included power supply.

Q: 9. How important is shielded cable? I'm wondering about our existing unshielded 250ft cat6 run.

A: Shelled cables are recommended as they will help protect against any potential power surges when connected to the Kramer TP-580TXR Extended Range HDBaseT Twisted Pair Transmitter, but they are not required.

Q: 10. Can I use this device as HDMI extender over cat6 to get picture from cable box and ir extender to control a cable box?

A: That should be possible. This HDBaseT Transmitter and Receiver set is HDCP complaint, which is necessary for it to work with a cable box. It also can extend IR over the Cat6 cable.

[1.4 lb (0.6 kg)] Need to send video beyond the limits of HDMI? Look no further... This hardware just works.

[12 VDC, 380 mA] This Receiver/Transmitter pair really just makes a long (up to 295ft) HDMI cable. Nothing to 'install' as much as just 'plug in'. You'll need an HDMI cable at each end - plan accordingly. Use shielded cable!

[1.4 lb (0.6 kg)] Worked great. These work in pairs the PT-571 is the transmitter. You also need the the PT-572+ the receiver end. Our church uses 2 pairs of these. The one for our projector has been in use for more ten 2 years no issues at all. Rob

[1.4 lb] These little pico tools from Kramer are an excellent solution at a good price point. Using these with 572 receivers and a Kramer 2x4 HDMI distro on the front end to send presentations to three screens over 100' of qualified (Kramer uniKat) CAT6 cable. It just works. No latency, no glitching, no resolution limits up to and including 1920 x 1080. Rack amount accessories make for a clean, manageable installation. The 572 receivers get power over ethernet, so no wall wart required at the receiver end.
