The Palmer PMBLA Active Line-Level Mergeris a two-channel, stereo line-level merger box with active circuitry, designed to combine two stereo line-level signals into one stereo output, with lossless mixing and signal amplification. It can be used for simultaneously connecting two mixing desks to a single PA system, such as a DJ mixer and mixing console to a studio or live venue sound system.

Featuring combo sockets with XLR and 1/4" connectors, channel 1 is designed for both consumer-level equipment and professional gear with input sensitivity switchable from -10 dbV (consumer level) to +6 dBu (professional level). Channel 2 is optimized for +6 dBu professional line levels only. The inputs are galvanically isolated from one another to prevent crosstalk.

Both channels feature a mute switch and a mono switch to mix the stereo signal down to mono. Rotary controls set the overall levels with a maximum input signal boost of +16 dB. Individual ground lift switches are provided for each stereo input and the output.

The PMBLA is housed in a 1 RU, half-rack case and has a built-in power supply.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with an adapter for 120 VAC USA style outlets?

A: This unit should included a 120v power supply for US usage.

Q: 2. Can an electret condenser microphone work with this unit?

A: No, the RDL ST-DA3 1 x 3 Line-Level Distribution Amplifier is for line-level audio only. It does not have a mic input or the ability to supply voltage to a condenser microphone. You would need to use a separate mic preamp or mixer to connect the mic, then connect the output from the preamp or mixer to the input on the amp.

Q: 3. will this device provide +48v Phantom power to a condenser microphone ?

A: This device is a gain booster for ribbon/ dynamic mics, and while it uses 48v to provide gain, it does not pass phantom power. If you need just phantom power for a condenser mic, here's a phantom power supply option BH #MAM48.

Q: 4. where is the SPDIF input? useless for me, since i monitor from the digital out of my DAW... the Presonus Central Station has all the analog in and outs plus a SPIDIF/Toslink input.

A: There are NO digital connections (SPDIF):Inputs: Balanced2 x combo XLR-1/4 Aux (unbalanced):1 x TRS 3.5 mm2 x mono RCA ----------------------------------------------------------Output Connectors: 5 x XLR: (4 x balanced; 1 x unbalanced)

Q: 5. Is it okay to use this with a shotgun microphone that can take a battery for its phantom power, such as the Senheisser MKE 600?

A: Yes, the sE Electronics DM1 Dynamite Active Inline Microphone Preamplifier could be used to increase the gain of a battery-powered shotgun microphone such as the Sennheiser MKE 600, but doing so may overload the input connection or exaggerate the self-noise of the microphone.

Q: 6. Can I use this with the Roland AX Edge? Is is 100% compatible?

A: Yes it will work with the Roland ax edge, or any audio gear with 1/4 trs output.

Q: 7. Does this cable work for Panasonic Lumix S1R and Zoom H6? Thank you!

A: Hi Edward. For the Zoom H6 recorder, we recommend the LN2MIC-ZOOMH6 or LN2MIC-ZMH6-MON assembly. Thank you!

Q: 8. How many channels of audio does the cable send?

A: This, Sescom LN2MIC-TASDR100 Line Out to Camera Mic Level In Cable, is intended to pass stereo (L/R) signals.

Q: 9. Is the output signal truly FULLY balanced, i.e. is there both a (+) and out-of-phase (-) signal?

A: Yes, the outputs are fully balanced

Q: 10. Hello! I just made the payment for the product Boss WL 20L. Do I need to know when you'll have it in stock? I need it with some urgency. Thank you!

[2.5 W] This is a well built unit, and extremely quiet. With the ground lifting capability, I can get rid of hum as well. I use it to feed powered stage monitors, and it does not seem to affect the volume level of the channel I am using. I am extremely happy with the splitter and the cost at B&H was far below other stores I looked at. On top of that, it included free shipping and was to my door in a few days.

[100-240 VAC] I was looking for a monitor controller with plenty of i/o and handy features at a decent price and this definitely fit the bill. Phase meter and integrated talk back mic are nice touches. There are a couple of different options for configuring the selection of speakers which are very useful in quickly swapping between different set ups.

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] WOW, with this little box you will be surprised, it has transformed my home theater 100 percent. My front mains LCR speakers have taken on new life, RCA pre-outs to XLR inputs on power amp now matched. No more ground loop noise, clean and clear audio sound with lots of dynamic range which I could not get with out it. I have two of them. JUST GREAT. And by the way B&H service is great also, Thank You.

[100-240 VAC] Needed a monitor station when my well known big knob controller finally became unusable. The Palmer Monicon XL is a definite improvement, not only in function but in audio performance. Everything sounds better! Simple user interface has a lot of functionality with the setup options.

[2.5 W] I use the LM2U 2-channel line level converter to convert the sound from the balance to computer sound card use. It's very good as expected.

[3.6 lb] I have an unbalanced source and monitors that accept unbalanced or balanced inputs. I was using the unbalanced inputs and was picking up random computer noise. I picked up this unit to convert that unbalanced output to balanced right at the source, and it works perfectly and solved my noise problem.

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] I'm using an AVR as a pre-amp to an external amp that has balanced inputs. The AVR only has unbalanced outputs, so I bought the LM2B to convert the AVR signal to balanced. The advantage in doing this is that the balanced signal is about 6db stronger than unbalanced, giving me lots of headroom, and the amp doesn't have to work as hard to get the volume I need. I did a lot of research on these converters, and the LM2B seems to have the strongest performance specs of all the ones I looked at. So far it works and sounds fantastic. Great solution for converting unbalanced signals in a home theater set up.
