Rig up your Odyssey monitor recorder with the Movcam Standard Bracket. Attaching to the back of the Odyssey 7Q, the Standard Bracket has various 1/4"-20-threaded mounting points for mounting other accessories. On the rear of the bracket is a secure point for attaching a V-mount or Gold-mount battery plate. Two rosette attachments are included for either mounting the monitor to a larger rig or attaching handles to the Odyssey for a mobile director's monitor configuration. The bracket itself is ventilated to keep the Odyssey monitor cool during long shoots.

Q: 1. Will this work with my A7? Also, will it mount on to a Glidecam, without any other accessories? I would use it to help add extra weight and protection. Thank you!

A: My understanding is that the body for the A7 and A7S (which I own) are identical; therefore, this cage will fit your Sony A7. Also, the cage will fit on our GlideCam perfectly - for convenience, I'd recommend buying a quick release plate - but you already know that.Best of luck...

Q: 2. Does this work on the 7Q also?

A: Garbage. Do not buy it. Sent mine back. Bought a much better, cheaper and secure design from Westside AV.

Q: 3. Without the riser is there a 1/4-20 screw thread at the bottom of this cage?

A: Yes, there are 3 1/4 mounts on the bottom of the cage. Don't hesitate, you'll love it!

Q: 4. Will this fit on the Odyssey 7Q+?

A: They are compatible because there is no physical difference in terms of mounting between the 7Q and 7Q+.

Q: 5. is the cage black or bronze??

A: Black

Q: 6. Is this a curved or flat screen monitor?

A: The Samsung LS27CG512ENXZA is a flat panel monitor.

Q: 7. Is there a mounting point on top of the cage (near the Movcam logo?)

A: There are mounting holes all around the perimeter of the cage, though not on the top portion.

Q: 8. Is there a HDMI cable clamp built into the left side of the cage or should I purchase a separate one?

A: Yes, it includes an HDMI cable clamp that mounts with a 1/4 20 screw. Just be sure to purchase an hdmi cable with a slim head.

Q: 9. Will this cage work with the A7II?

A: Because the A7II has a different body shape to the A7/S/R it won't work with the A7II.. Its a great cage tho and hopefully they will come out with an A7II version. Alex

Q: 10. Hi! Is this able to mount on the LWS Baseplate for a7s?

A: While many 15mm rod system components are interchangeable, I do not see how this Movcam item would work with any Chrosziel LWS baseplate.For a Sony a7s 15mm rod system with handles, may I suggest this one? The SHAPE handles are my favorite of any I have used because they easily change but are rock solid.

[0.8 lb] Simply put, you can not get a better cage for the A7s. I'm currently running a Zoom H6, NTG-2, and Sennheiser 112p-G3 all mounted on top of the cage, and it works beautifully. If you own an A7s, do yourself a favor and buy this cage now. 5

[0.8 lb] I have this as part of the whole Movcam cage system. It's not mentioned in the B&H description, but this individual piece is designed to work in conjunction with MOVCAM 303-3901 base plate. I don't see any way to mount the bottom screws to the camera without the Movcam baseplate. I'd love to be proven wrong, as that would open up more options. This side bracket is one of the main reasons I bought the Movcam cage. The rear rosette is in a unique position and is great for relocating the stock handle or installing a wooden rosette handle when shooting with an Easyrig. 5

[0.8 lb] Otherwise, can't tell you how much nicer and cleaner my DSLR rigs look. Gone is the gaff tape, rip wraps, rubber bands, etc. So much nicer and professional!What's awesome is that it has 2 D tap connectors, so you can run multiple accessories.The photo is slightly wrong. The actually connections on the bracket are female lemo connections. Haven't had a good chance to get into these just yet, but you have 3 of the larger lemo size 12 volt (1B I believe), 1 0B lemo for a 5 volt, and 1 0B lemo for a 7.2 volt.The other review about this item is for the item in the photo. However, that's an OLD photo of the wrong part. Currently, as of 11/18/2012, I can tell you that the connections are female Lemo connections, NOT what is pictured in the photo.WARNING!!! Just to be on the safe side, call B&H photo before you buy this to make sure it IS the correct part. 5

[0.8 lb] This product is exactly what I needed. It's durable and sturdy and allows me to nicely mount to any surface using a quarter 20 screw. It really helps to steady my handheld shots and is a great value for the price. Don't settle for imitations. This MovCam cage is the real deal! 5

[0.8 lb] This cage fits the A7S perfectly, makes it feel so secure and ready for any task thrown at it. Also, an unexpected plus is that it added the perfect amount of weight for my glidecam hd-4000. 5
