[Bay 70] I really like the quality of Heliopan filters, both optical and physical. Machining is as close to perfect as they get. Screws on smoothly and never binds up. I use this on a Leica M 50 1.4 to enable me to shoot wider open in daylight. It does not interfere with the built in hood. When using top notch Leica lenses, it wouldn't make sense to use inferior filters. Highly recommended.

[Glass] Wanting to control light and being able to make longer exposures was important to me. The 77mm Neutral Density (ND) 3.0 Filter by Heliopan in my opinion is simply perfect! (I also have the 77mm Neutral Density (ND) 0.9 Filter by Heliopan) I use only Heliopan UV filters to protect my lenses. The high quality of the mount threads make it easy to attach and remove... never binding. Heliopan ND Filters improve color during longer exposures in bright light and allow a photographer to be much more creative. They are not cheap however when one invests in high quality lenses it only makes sense to protect them with and use high quality filters. Signed One very happy owner! Larry

[Single Coated] If your purchasing a 60mm ND filter, it's likely to be paired with a Leica Noctilux. When I purchased my Noctilux, I picked up the Leica ND filter at the same time. I quickly found that if I shoot using a fixed Kelvin white balance setting then adding the Leica ND filter creates a noticeable blue shift. Follow-up investigations confirmed that others report the same effect. I returned the filter and searched for a better option. As I also use this filter in connection with flash work, 4 stops extends the flash sync speed to a broader set of exposure conditions as compared to other competitive 3 stop filters. Testing the Heliopan in the same way as the Leica filter showed little or no shift in color cast. Lastly, I'm also quite pleased with the images that I'm now producing.

[Single Coated] This is a really great neutral density filter. It allows me to cut down on the amount of light coming into my Hasselblad lens so that I can shoot wide open in bright sunlight, without sacrificing image quality. The front filter threads allow me to attach either my Cokin attachment with yellow filter (for b&w film photography), or my graduated neutral density filters. Or I can attach my B+W circular polarizer to it if I need to enhance the saturation and add some contrast to the scene. The build quality of the filter is top of the line. My only gripe with it is that the case is rather clunky. I much prefer the B+W cases, as they are simple and compact and can easily fit into a camera bag without taking up too much space. From the description of the product, I cannot determine whether it is multi-coated or not, but having stacked filters and used this in a myriad of shooting situations, I have detected NO loss in image quality and no ghosting effects like you might find with a cheap, non-coated filter. I would definitely buy Heliopan filters again.

[Bay 70] ND filters are a necessity for any videographer shooting during day time when the sun is blasting overhead to allow you to use a shallow depth of field to achieve a beautiful bokeh and out of focus background to focus on your subject. using the Sony A7RII with the Amazing 28-135mm Video Lens poses a real challenge due to its huge filter size of 95mm, which this filter covers. moreover, the glass quality and the end to end consistent light diffusion ensures a clean professional looking video in harsh light. top quality. as good as it gets

[Brass] I wanted to buy a B+W 82mm 3.0 ND filter, but I found that they dose not have one. So I go for Heliopan and I found this filter is really good!!! The image is sharp and works really well in the sunlights.

[Bay 70] A very well constructed, solid build ND filter. Optics are great and services my wide variety of digital and film (medium and large format) extremely well. The biggest disappointment is with B&H and their inability to estimate delivery times. Most 95mm filters in this brand seem to be special order, most four to six weeks for delivery, the one I ordered (as well as a few others) where two to four weeks estimated delivery. The U.S. corporate office for Heliopan estimates eight weeks for there special orders. Delivery was finally twelve weeks. I do understand an estimate is not a guarantee however it should be relatively close unlike what appears to be B&Hs ability.
