The Gator Rackworks Lockable Rack Drawer 2 RUfrom Gator Rackworks Lockable Rack Drawer 2 RUis a 14.2" deep fully enclosed drawer that can be installed in a 2 RU rack space. The drawer is fashioned from 16-gauge steel and sports a black powder-coated finish. A: Sorry, this product does not have the particular cut-out on the drawer face that is needed in order to install that keylock. The KYLK Keylock was made to be compatible with Middle Atlantic UD series drawers only.

A: According to the manufacturer, "[The On-Stage RDLS1000 1 RU Locking Rack Drawer] uses[s] a plastic latching mechanism to keep drawers in place, pushing down on the latch on the front of the drawer allows you to open the drawer. That being said, if held at an angle and especially with any additional weight inside the drawer it’s fairly easy for that latch to pop open and the drawers will move. Locking the drawers would be the only way to truly secure them in place if at an angle."

A: There is a little catch when the shelf is pushed all the way in, offering some resistance. One would have to tug at it with just a bit of force to get it to come out. Officially however, there is no lock.

[18.9 lb] I got this for a 6U shallow rack for a sound system. It fits perfectly. I didn't realize it came with an optional lock and key that you can install in a punch-out. The drawer latches without the lock so I don't use it. Also, it came with grommets and punch-outs in the back for routing cables for charging devices in the drawer. 5

[Steel] What a great purchase…. This is a HIGH quality road case. The drawer is rock solid and the front and back covers have tons of room for microphones… This is one of the best 19” rack cases I have ever purchased. 5

[Steel] I bought this drawer to put in a 4U portable Gator Case. The intent was to put microphones and a headphone preamp in the foam insert so that when I was carrying the case or setting it on edge that they would be protected and not shift around. The drawer is really solidly built and that is great. But that also means it's HEAVY. I've now practically doubled the weight of the case and 2U of gear, cables and such that I have to lug around. But I guess it's worth it. The foam comes in two pieces, each half the height of the drawer and snugly filling the width and depth. The foam is scored or diced so that you can remove cube sized sections to make room for whatever you want to put into the drawer. It's not difficult at all to pull out the sections to make any reasonably rectangular shape that you want. However, don't try to put two openings too close together! One row of these cubes isn't strong enough to hold a shape. Leave at least 2 or 3 consecutive rows/columns of this foam together, especially if you will be putting this in a portable case. 5

[18.9 lb] As a gigging musician I need more than instruments and mics. I need various tools for on-site repairs and assembling stage props. I purchased this drawer to install into my utility rack for that purpose. It is deep enough to hold the electric/battery operated hand tools the band needs for our shows. Therefore it serves the purpose well. 5
