A: The QU16 has robust mix-bus options, and in addition to the main left/right FOH mix there are 10 other output buses and two dedicated effects buses.

A: Currently, the Qu-Pad app is available only for iOS for the Apple iPad.

Q: 3. Hello! Does this mixer comes with any DAW? If so, what DAW? If there is no DAW in the package, is this compatible with any DAW? (preferably Studio One 3) What are some software comes with mixer? And also, is this a windows compatible for recording purposes? Does it record individual track per channel on DAW or any recording software? Do I need a speaker amplifier or it has already a built in amplifier?

A: You can use it with most softwares using midi. For most uses you can use Mackie control software. for recording straight from the board, you can use a USB drive that plugs into the top port in order to record all tracks as well.

Q: 4. Is this a good digital mixer to start with if you aren't familiar with a digital mixer? Do you have to have a computer or I pad to use it?

A: Our church uses the Qu-16 and we are looking at upgrading to the Qu-24. I have never used a digital mixer until I started helping out with the sound hardware this year and I found that I could watch all the YouTube video about this product line and actually use the mixer. Are their functions that I don’t know how to use, yes! But I’ve learned enough to control the sound in our church while using 6 fixed mics, and 16 channel snake. We can’t use all the snake inputs with only 16 channels, but the QU-24 will take care of that. I have unique EQ, gates and compression on the channels as needed and scenes set up for 6 different service types. So yes moving from analog to digital has worked well for me. And the iPad application is fantastic. We don’t have anyone in the sound room, just the iPad out with the choir director!

Q: 6. I'd like more info on the effects. Is there a delineation between what DSP FX are available as inserts and what are available as returns? Is there a limit to the number of insert FX on each channel or FX returns? For example, on an FX return can I place an EQ, then reverb, then compress the reverb? Also, does the recallable scene / snapshot function also recall all the FX on each channel, the returns, and any parameter changes from default FX settings? Thanks so much! A: The XLR mix outputs are mono, however output 5/6, 7/8, and 9/10 are configured as stereo pairs.

A: They cannot be controlled from an ATEM.
