When a #8 or #12 Yellow isn't enough, the #15 is the next stop. This filter adds a significant amount of contrast to black and white film. And, should this filter not be sufficient, an orange filter is recommended, followed by red, which will provide maximum contrast with black and white film.

A: Infrared film, if shot without filters, looks like normal black & white film. That is because regular light overpowers the IR. So you need filters that are IR friendly. In this instance, you could use this Heliopan 30.5mm #29 Dark Red Filter with Ilford. According to Ilford, When used with a deep red filter, SFX 200 renders blue skies almost black and green vegetation almost white to create a stunning infra-red look to your shots.
