Q: 5. Thanks. But I still don't know the difference between "apparent'" and "actual" angle of view for comparison to Snypex 10x32. ?

A: The apparent angle of view is what it looks like through your binoculars: as if you were (in the case of the Opticron 10x32 Discovery WA ED Binoculars) 10 times (10x) closer to the object. The field of view measures the same thing in concrete terms, as 318' @ 1000 yd--the width of the view at 1000 yards distance.

Q: 6. What is "apparent angle of view"? The number is radically different for the "actual angle of view" for other products.

A: The correct "apparent angle of view" for the Opticron 10x32 Discovery WA ED Binoculars is 6.1 degrees, not the 61 degrees printed in the Specs--that's a mistake. All of the 10x32 binoculars that we have show an apparent angle of view between 5.0 and 7.5 degree.

A: Whether it will support an Alien Bees 800 monolight on an Impact Heavy Duty Stand depends on the boom is being used.

[0.84 lb] The clamp serves its purpose perfectly. The only issue in my case is that the three sleeves (21/22, 23/24 and 25/26 mm) included in the box are useless considering that my vertical post that's supposed to slip into the clamp base is 28 mm. Fortunately, the clamp will fit up to a 32 mm post. So, with a piece of wood I was able to shim the difference to make the clamp usable.

[0.84 lb] The Opticron 8x42 DBA VHD+ Monocular is lightweight and easy to carry and use. This monocular is great for quick bird and critter identification. I put a lanyard on mine so it is out of the way, but immediately handy when hiking. Opticron has rubber lens covers available that can slide on each end and then can be flipped on or off the ends without having to remove the caps. No more lost caps!

[0.84 lb] I purchased this monocular primarily for stargazing. I have looked around the landscape too. The optics are just that, great. I can't see any limitations between my eyes and the atmosphere. The field is flat to the edges, judged by stars. There is slight brightness variation at the edge barely noticeable when looking at the light polluted sky.
The whole device feels small and light. It easily fits in a pocket. I can hold it in one hand no problem. The problem is to hold it with two hands when I want to minimize shaking. I wish they made a bigger model, like 12x60 or so.

Focusing mechanism is smooth. The eyepiece is comfortable. The smaller, eyepiece cap is rather loose, bound to be lost some day. The larger one is tighter and there is another one in the box with secure attachment. Included carry strap is weird.

[0.84 lb] Delivery by B&H was very prompt. this pair of Opticrons's is the fifth pair i've bought.......have gifted three of them to birder family members. for the money i don't know what you'd buy that would give a better view. they gather light quite well like all inexpensive binoculars they are a little soft at the edges, but most of us concentrate on the middle view and it is tack sharp at the center. these are ideal for birders. and i've enjoyed taking them outside at night to view the sweet spots in the Milky Way. you cannot go wrong buying these at the price B&H offers.

[0.84 lb] This is a great addition to your kit. It allows you to convert and add to your existing stands. One down side it when clamping an odd size section the two halves of the clamp can become angled and bind making them hard to open again. I over came this by adding a piece of PVC into the empty hole for it to clamp onto keeping it level.

[0.84 lb] Very well made. Strong and stable. Was worried that it would be too small for my spotter, but it is fine. Only con is that it doesn't fit in my range bag. Would certainly buy again.
