Achieve shots that were once only possible with advanced motorized setups with the Kessler Crane Parallax. This model is sized to fit the 5' Cineslider and provides fixed-point shooting capability. Using a flexible bar and a mechanical linkage, the Parallax can easily facilitate inward and outward panning motions to accompany the horizontal slider movement. This can be used, for example, to fix the camera on one subject during the slide; great for interviews and other shots of still subjects. Setting up is as easy as setting your camera's position at each end of the move's travel.

The design of the Parallax does not camera placement, and traditional slider functionality can be maintained without removing the Parallax from the slider. A motor can be added for autonomous control in situations where camera operation crew is not available or when precise control is required. With the separately available Parallax case, the entire system can be transported without requiring disassembly.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this slider works with a manfrotto 501 head?

A: The Kessler Flat Mount Adapter gives you a 3/8 -16 stud on the cart of the CineSlider, so you can mount a flat mount head, like the 501.

Q: 2. What length HDMI cable would I need to run from the DSLR to the monitor that is mounted to the Kessler Pocket Jib Traveller?

A: I don't have it mounted and open right now, but the specs here say 6' max extension from fulcrum, so I'm going to say you'd be safe with a 7-8' HDMI cable, right? You can always tie up the extra near the monitor which can attach to the base (near the fulcrum). If I were shopping for one (good idea, by the way) I would look for something flexible and light. Some of those HDMI cables are stiff and heavy. Good luck!

Q: 3. What would you need to mount the ronin M in the upright position onto this?

A: You can hang the Ronin by attaching the CineMilled DJI Ronin M Quick Plate to the bottom of the crane's camera mounting plate.

Q: 4. What holes does it have to mount it on stands, 5/8" 3/8" or 14-20"?

A: The unit offers 5/8" 3/8" or 14-20" openings.

Q: 5. does this crane need a specific kind of tripod?

A: The base of the Pocket Jib has a 3/8 -16 screw hole so it will mount to the base of any standard tripod leg. You will just want to make sure the tripod you use is rated to support the total payload.

Q: 6. What is the payload capacity? It states 20lbs. But with a 20lb payload x3 for counter balance, you get 60lbs. Then when you add in the 27.5lbs needed to balance the crane without a payload, you get 87.5lbs of counterbalance weight. The manual states that you should not exceed 75lbs of counter balance. So that puts the max payload for a balanced crane at 16lbs. That is 20% less than the advertised max payload. So what is the true safe balanced payload capacity and counterweight capacity?

A: Please call us: 800.606.6969

Q: 7. is this compatible with the 3 ft Kessler pocket dolly?

A: According to Kessler, you will need to order the 3ft Parallax for the Pocket Dolly. This item is special order from B&H. Please call, or email so that we can do that for you. Phone and e-mail 800.606.6969 or 212.444.6615 E-Mail:sales@a href= http://bhphotovideo.com target= _blank bhphotovideo.com./a

Q: 8. With the Kessler Cine Shooter Roll Axis, do I also need the Heavy-Duty support module with it?

A: Yes, You will need the HD Support Module for the roll. It's a necessary piece for mounting the roll axis.

Q: 9. Is it possible to get an overhead shot (looking straight down) with this jib?

A: It is possible to get an overhead shot with this jib, however you'll probably want to attach a security cable to your camera to play it safe. There are two knobs that can be loosened to extend the jib; when both are fully extended the camera will stay parallel to ground, but if you extend the top bar further than the bottom bar you can progressively tilt the camera down further and further. This jib has been extremely useful on my shoots, where I rarely have an assistant, as I can set this up in just a few minutes. Make sure you properly set your counter weight, this and a bit of practice and you'll be getting some nice, smooth shots.

Q: 10. Does it have an electric or a manual pump?

A: The Kessler Crane Lamprey Adapter (8") will use a manual pump. Kessler has discontinued their AutoVac product line that provided electrical pump options.

[55.5" (1.4 m)] I love this crane - solid and portable

[55.5" (1.4 m)] I wanted something that would be just right for my 100mm tripod head and allow it to be leveled. I wanted to use this as the 100mm ball adapter for a slider dolly that I was making. This ball mount has 4 screws on the underside that allows me to secure it to the slider dolly with screws instead of a big washer. It will also allow me to use the leveling feature of a tripod ball head since the underside is also a ball shape for flat like others.
The price was also great.
This did just what I needed and at a great price.

[55.5" (1.4 m)] We've use nothing but Kessler Crane for jibs and sliders and have put our 3' cineslider through hard treatment (dropped, scraped, thrown into trunks, etc...), mounting 7lbs-10lbs of gear on it with field monitors etc... and have had no issued whatsoever.

[9.35 lb] These feet are practically necessary for the Kessler brand sliders. I wish they would just come bundled with the sliders (although I guess there is going to be a new kit for the Stealth slider.

[4.7 lb (2.1 kg)] The Kessler Cineslider is my go to slider for 90% of the interviews i shoot and a core of my time-lapse shooting. The system is built like a tank and takes a beating. I have used mine at the ocean, in the forrest, on top of mountains, etc. I do not keep mine in a case and it gets banged around quite a bit so I am not sure if that other reviewer is using a chainsaw on his or if he just straight up is not an owner and user of the product. If you are looking for a well built slider, this is best out there. Worth every penny.

[55.5" (1.4 m)] If you're reading about Kessler Cinesliders, then you've got an interest in Pro Gear. This product fits the bill. I've had this filming timelapse sequences in the dead of Winter in the garden and I've dragged it through deserts in Australia. It still gives me as beautifully smooth footage as the day I bought it.

If you buy the 5ft version (this product), then you'll need tripod support at both ends for stability. One tripod in the middle will not cut it. The ideal solution is two Kessler slider kwik release adaptor plates, two Kessler quick release receivers and two very heavy duty tripods (I use Manfrotto 536 sticks with 504HD heads).

Think about transporting this as well. There is a soft case made for these which is well made and will offer decent protection. If you want to fly with the unit or otherwise professionally protect the unit, I thoroughly recommend the Sportube Series 1 case - made for transporting skis. It's a beast - I store in this case and transport it everywhere. Note that you'll still need the soft case inside the hard case - otherwise it will slide around.

There's definitely cheaper options than Kessler on the market, but I'm yet to see a system that matches this quality.
