Tailored frequency response of 50 Hz to 16 kHz accentuates midrange and mid-high frequencies while eliminating low-frequency noise.

The i5 is designed to accurately reproduce high audio peak levels without noise and distortion.

The cardioid polar pattern attenuates signal at the sides of the capsule. The result eliminates noise and ambiance caused by speakers, monitors and adjacent instruments and vocalists.

The i5 features a zinc alloy body with a steel grille and black e-coat finish for great durability.

The mic comes complete with a mic clip and carrying pouch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what type of amp is best for this mic and harmonica?

A: Many harmonica players like to use a microphone through a small combo amplifier designed for guitar to achieve a tone with a little more grit and dirtier tone than a standard PA speaker. Perhaps something like the Blackstar Debut 15E Stereo 15W Practice Guitar Amplifier (B&H # BLDEBUT15EBG) or the Roland CUBE-10GX Guitar Amplifier (B&H # ROCUBE10GX), or the VOX Valvetronix VT20X Hybrid Modeling 1x8 Combo Guitar Amplifier (B&H # VOVT20X).

Q: 2. I dont want to use a computer. What is a good sound source for the sr 16?

A: The unit has all the drum sounds, you just need to amplify them. Plug it in to any PA system or use headphones.

Q: 3. I’ve had these mics for about 2 months now. At first they performed very well, but in the last week or so the three that are on my toms crackle terribly when I hit the tom. This has rendered them unusable for recording. When I take them off the drum and just hold the mic close, this doesn’t happen. Seems like the vibration of the drum is rattling the internals if the mic. Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a suggestion for fixing it?

A: Either way you won't be able to fix it. Either return it or contact the manufacturer about a replacement.

Q: 4. Will this microphone work with this Shure auto-mixer?https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/188356-REG/Shure_SCM410_SCM410_4_Cha

A: Yes, the Audix M70W Flush-Mount Ceiling Microphone can be connected to the Shure SCM410 4 Channel Automatic Mixer, however, you will need to use a separate phantom power supply to power the microphone since the M70W requires a minimum of 18V and the SCM410 will supply only 12V. As an option for a single mic, you can use the Mackie M48 Single-Channel 48V Phantom Power Supply (B&H # MAM48).

Q: 5. Is this comparable with the Audix HT2 -Condenser Headworn Microphone?

A: This kit comes with the Audix HT2 condenser headworn microphone.

Q: 6. Will this work with any mic with a mini-XLR connector, or only with Audix? Thanks.

A: Yes, the Audix MicroBoom 84 Carbon Fiber 84" Boom can be use with any microphone that has a mini-XLR connector. The MicroBoom 84 has a mini-XLR female connector on the top to attach the mic and terminates with a mini-XLR male connector at the bottom. The MicroBoom attaches to any microphone stand and can be used horizontally or vertically.

Q: 7. Can it be used on a bass drum?

A: Should work on nearly all drum rims, snare, tom-tom, or bass.

Q: 8. How do i hook it up?

A: Use an XLR microphone cable:Kopul - Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable - 6' (1.8 m), Black (B&H# KOM3006)Product Highlights: XLR M to XLR F Cable Color-Coded for Visibility and Style Ideal for Live Sound & Performance 95% Dual-Spiral Shield Twin Conductive PVC Inner Shields 24-Gauge OFC Conductors Cotton-Yarn Wrap Reduces Noise Shrink-Wrapped Solder Points Neutrik XX Silver Connectorshttp://bhpho.to/1blahAn

Q: 9. would this work good on an alto saxophone?

A: Yes, you can use the Audix ADX20I Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone (B&H# AUADX20I ) on an alto saxophone. This is just the mic only and it has a mini-XLR output connector which requires a power supply. You may want to purchase the same mic packaged with the compatible phantom power supply, which is the Audix ADX20IP Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone with APS910 Power Supply (B&H# AUADX20IP). The power supply has a mini-XLR input connector for the mic and a standard XLR output connector to connect to your amp, PA or recorder.

Q: 10. Can this microphone be used with a professional camera (or mixer) ie: XLR connectivity?

A: Yes, the Audix M70W Flush-Mount Ceiling Microphone (White) BH #AUM70W may be used with an XLR audio input camera or mixer. An adapter is required: Hosa Technology PHX-206F-BULK Female Phoenix to 3-Pin Female XLR B&H # HOCPXFF: https://bhpho.to/3zikidz Reviews The Hosa PHX-206F BULK will connect XLR pro audio equipment including microphones and cameras to consumer audio equipment that uses phoenix connectors. [0.95 lb] Well, it doesn't look that great in the pictures, does it ? Indeed, I doubt it would have occurred to me to BUY one, until TWO of them arrived over a year ago as part of my superb Audix SCX25A matched pair piano miking kit. From that moment on, I found myself constantly reaching for them (rather than my vast inventory of other clamps) whenever the need arose to mount all sorts of things in all sorts of less conventional places. That they're fabulous for mics is a given, but these clamps are ALSO unmatched, in my long experience, for the secure clamping of more exotic things, such as mini cams and wireless mic antennae. Perhaps the best testimony I can give in terms of just HOW useful they've been (and what good value for money they represent) is me telling you that I now own a total of six.

[Cardioid] We were using the SM57 on floor toms, but it always lacked the low mid and lows without eq'ing the tar out of it. The D4 does exactly what we needed, great natural low end. Clear mids and highs.

[Black] This clamp holds the mic exactly where I need it, it's very versatile. Will buy more.

[Cardioid] A great multi-purpose dynamic mic, I use this small-sized, big-sounding tool for instruments and vocals alike. It obviously excels on the snare drum and on guitar cabinets, but I like the sound I get from it on various percussion, brass and lower-toned woodwind instruments. It doesn't have the shrill high-end crispness of a condenser, but you don't always need that. Overall, it sounds clean and strong, and adeptly resists feedback.

[Cardioid] Works well as an MD mic on my stage, doesnt pick up alot of stage noise, vocals really cut through well on this mic.

[0.95 lb] Very low noise floor, high rejection of off-axis background sound. Great mic for situations where you want to support a bass instrument, yet avoid PA feedback. Solidly made.

[0.95 lb] The i5 is great on guitar cab and snare...The SM57 is warmer, but if you need a brighter tone... This is it!

[0.95 lb] I've been using \Shure mics for years and am so pleased with the performance of OM2. It will be my standard vocal mike from now on!

[Cardioid] high quality build and sound.

[Mono] I have a bunch of OM5s which I use generally on all sorts of bands when I work as an in-house live sound engineer. On a bitey sound system they're a more pleasant vocal mic than other ubiquitous vocal mics you see around a lot. I find the OM5 has less mud, a slightly rounder mid, and doesn't suffer from the high mid narkiness of other common vocal mics. There's a very usable top end brightness which really brings the vocals to the front without being sibilant or harsh. The tighter pickup pattern also helps cut out spill from loud guitars and drums, which means the mix sounds clearer and tighter. Another bonus is that you can get a much louder vocal level in your monitors before feedback rears its ugly head... Useful for weak singers. The matte black finish looks very subtle and cool, and a little dangerous, and doesn't steal attention away from the singers. The biggest problem I have with this mic is the pickup pattern is too tight for singers who move around a lot in front of it. If your vocalist plays guitar and spends a lot of time turning her head to watch her fret hand, you'll frequently lose level as she goes off-mic. This is the flip-side of having a good tight pickup pattern.
