The ATEN CL1000MTAA 17" Slideaway LCD Consolefrom ATEN CL1000MTAA 17" Slideaway LCD Consoleacts as the front end for standard KVM switches. It features an integrated 17" LED-backlit LCD panel, full keyboard, and touchpad in a 1U housing. The console is TAA compliant, and rotates up to 115 degrees for a more comfortable viewing angle. There is built-in internal power, and DDC emulation for automatically adjusting VGA settings. The console supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Linux, and FreeBSD operating systems, and resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 .

A: The brand new G2-15 has enough height adjustment, most any camera can be used with it. A DSLR should not be a problem with it.

A: The teleprompter comes with the mount, monitor, mirror and hardware. All you need is a camera, tripod, and computer.

Q: 5. I've been looking at these monitors for a while. Are these basically a less expensive version of the Sony PVM-A170? Are these monitors for on set monitoring? Should a DP be looking at this monitor for color accuracy. Do these monitors come calibrated? Is it this still the case that they only display Slog 2& 3 Lut's? Or can they display other Lut's now?

A: The Sony LMD-A170 17" LCD Production Monitor is for on set monitoring, it complies to the BT.709/BT.2020/BT.2100 color spaces, we do not know about the level of DCI-P3 color compliance. Monitors come pre-calibrated but it never hurts to calibrate again before use to ensure the best results. The Sony LMD-A170 17" LCD Production Monitor only has a SLog-2 to Rec. 709 conversion LUT.

Q: 6. Can the monitor mirror in hardware? I want to use powerpoint slides in the prompter.

A: The Telmax Futura 19" LCD Teleprompter with 19" LCD Monitor requires the Zaprompt software to flip the image. It is not a reversing display.

Q: 7. Can I modify this teleprompter to be on a c-stand with wheels so I can just roll it up to a camera already on a tripod?

A: You could put this on a light stand with wheels by using this adapter. Kupo Baby Ball Head Adapter B&H # KUKG014212. However, you may run into space issues as the stand and tripod may want to occupy the same space. Also the shot would be a lock off, I.E. the camera could not pan and tilt to any real degree to follow the talent.

Q: 8. Will this unit flip the image so that the software will play normal in the control room ?

A: Yes, the software provided has the necessary mirroring capability.

Q: 9. What's the resolution of the monitor? Does this come with a travel case?

[Metal, plastic] We purchased this for our TV station to connect to one of our KVMs. It is -much- better than a simple pull-out rack for a miniature keyboard and mouse, which ends up being quite cramped. Plus we save the rack space of having to have a monitor in the rack. The keyboard is basically full-size and there's a trackpad... some of our engineers don't like using a trackpad, but we use the USB pass-through to let them plug in a mouse, so it's great! We did need to buy a special cable, USB Type A to USB Type A, to get the pass-through connected up though. Build quality is outstanding. 5
