This ATEN 8-Port 19" Dual-Rail KVM Switchfeatures an independently retractable, dual slide 19" LCD monitor and keyboard with built-in touchpad. The KL1508A KVM switches are control units that allow IT administrators to access and control multiple computers from the LCD console and an extra PS/2 or USB KVM console.

A: There is no indication from Aten's own documentation (website, datasheet, and user manual) that HDR10 is supported.

A: This includes the following pieces : SUHN Unit 2/4-port Secure HDMI KVM Switch PS12VDC2A or PS12VDC3A 12V DC, 2A (minimum) power adapter with center-pin positive polarity. Quad head models require a 12V DC 3A (minimum) power adapter with center-pin positive polarity.

Q: 7. Is the 4th hdmi a true video port? I have one sun that needs to keep it's keyboard, but video would be fine switched though kvm

A: While the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2x2 USB Audio Interface could be connected to multiple PCs using the IOGEAR 2-Port 4K Dual View DisplayPort KVMP Switch with USB 3.0 Hub and Audio, it would not be able to serve as an audio source for two separate software programs running on two PCs at the same time. It could be used with software on one PC and then, if that software is closed or the Scarlett is disconnected from it, could be used again with another software on a separate PC.

[Metal housing] I needed to switch between two laptops that needed to use the same USB keyboard, USB mouse, and monitor using a VGA connector. The IOGear 2-port USB KVM switch is compact, with plenty of attached cables for both computers, and a very handy push-button switch on a long dedicated cable that allowed me to hide the KVM and position the switch right in front of my monitor. I am very pleased with the unit. 5

[Metal housing] I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket. 5

[Metal housing] I needed something so that I could access two separate computers, with two different Operating Systems, to the same monitor - without having to change the plugs back and forth. This product did the job perfectly. I had to mess with the USB plugs a bit first, but finally got it right, and how easy it is now! I'm very pleased! 5
