The completely modular Chrosziel Cine.1 Dual-Stage Matte Boxfrom Chrosziel Cine.1 Dual-Stage Matte Boxis built to be strong yet lightweight to fit into your handheld or studio camera rig. Having a matte box on the front of your lens allows you more flexilbility in lighting your scene by blocking light sources just out of frame from directly entering the lens, which can cause the lens to flare, and introduce image artifacts. This particular iteration of the Cine.1 series can be mounted directly on the lens with the integrated clamp, and is configured with two filter stages, however, it can be configured to hold either one or three filters with addition or removal of filter stages.

A top flag (also called an eyebrow) is included to block extraneous light from above. The flag folds in half for a smaller footprint when it's packed away. As an added touch, the flag has security holes which mate with safety latches on the matte box, preventing the flag from accidentally falling during installation.

The Cine.1 matte box housing is constructed from high-impact polymer blend. This material is very rigid and resistant to cracking, yet keeps the weight of the matte box down as to not unbalance your rig. The surround is constructed from aluminum

Using the multiple threaded mounting points, accessories such as side flags, rosettes, a filter catcher, and a top accessory plate, can be attached to expand the functionality of the Cine.1 matte box.

A: This product does not include a baseplate or rods, however we do have a nice assortment of options to choose from. The Pyro AV URSA Mini Kit (B&H #PY0623) and Wooden Camera Blackmagic URSA Mini Unified Accessory Kit (B&H #WO226300) are nice solutions that offer a baseplate, rods and even a top handle. Or you could look at the Shoulder-Mount Kit for the URSA Mini (B&H #BLURSAMSK) and adding some 15mm rods to it (B&H #IKELE15R12).

Q: 4. Can I use lenses with a diameter of 49mm in this mattebox or would there be any problem in?

A: Yes you can. This does have a universal Knickers for smaller lenses to block out light. You will need to have this matte box mounted on to a 15mm baseplate though.

A: Hi Matt , thank you for your interest in SHAPE products! The dimension of the matte box is length: 8 inches , height: 9 inches and depth: 14 inches with the french flag and side wings. Without the french flag and side wings, the dimensions are length: 4 inches , height: 10 inches and depth: 10 inches. A: For speed and convenience, I would suggest rather than a doughnut, useing this Movcam Universal Stretch Donut (130 mm) B&H # MOARU130 Mfr # MOV-301-0202MM2.

Q: 8. Can the above Chrosziel 450-R2 Matte Box and Follow Focus Kit be used for the Canon c300?

A: This Chrosziel kit is made for the Blackmagic 2.5 and 4k Cinema Cameras, it will not work with the C300. However Chrosziel does have some kits with a matte box for the C300 and you could add a variety of different follow focus systems to that rig.

A: Yes it should. This should hold any 4x4" or 4x5.65" filter.

[3.15 lb] I have owned all the major brands of matte boxes over the years and I settle on ARRI. Best matte box on the market. If you do any kind of handheld work you will appreciate the lightweight, modularity, and of course quality of the LMB 4x5. The only thing I can complain about is the cost of the top flag for the 4x5, but you're going to buy it anyway so suck it up, lol. 5

[150 mm Clamp] This extension works as expected. One thing to note is that with only 2 stages and the mattebox rolled back, you still have access to the swing away release pin. With a 3rd stage and the mattebox rolled back, the pin is covered so you'll need to always roll the mattebox forward in order to have access to the pin. That's not a big deal at all but something to be aware of. Otherwise, this 3rd stage works like the others and it's brilliant. I love the tray catch functionality. The front-most stage is a little tighter but that might be because of the way I installed it. Again, not a big deal. Really awesome mattebox and the filters/stages work well. I love that the trays accept 4x4 filters AND 4x5.65 filters. The 4x4 filters stay in place and hold well. If you're using 100mm filters (2mm thick instead of 4mm thick), you'll have to modify them as the filter trays won't hold them. The filters will be too small. Again, not a big deal, as this mattebox was meant to be used with 4x4 and 4x5.65 filters so if you stick to that, it works REALLY well. 5
