Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone used this to get dvd/blu ray into a video switcher like Kramer?

A: Yes it will, if your Kramer will work with HDCP protected content and pass EDID.

Q: 2. Can it emulate 1080p at 60fps?

A: Yes, the NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access BH #NETADP4KHEAD supports up to 4096 x 2160 4K Resolution. It will be able to emulate 1080p @ 60hz.

Q: 3. I have an Xfinity cable box connected to a Sony H800x tv that is connected to a Sonos Arc. I have a lip synch issue and cannot get it corrected. I spent a lot of time with Sony and Sonos but nothing worked. Will this device solve the problem? Does the device require power?

A: This does not solve syncing issues.

Q: 4. Connect to a VGA input, it keep not gettting signal. I have tested it in several monitor and sources inputs?

A: Be sure to connect all necessary cables correctly. If no image, then press the Menu button and select the parameters of the equipment you are using. It should work then. You may wish to consult the manual, found here: http://bit.ly/1Udgn5D If still no success, please contact Aten directly. http://bit.ly/1UdgttW

Q: 5. Do you need two to use? Or do you just use another laptop or computer? I still don’t really understand how it works exactly... sorry.

A: You will only need one of the NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access. The purpose of this item is to access your system remotely without having it connected to a monitor. So you connect the NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access to the HDMI port of the system you want to access remotely. The NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access will trick the system in thinking it has a monitor connected to it.

Q: 6. Is there a way of editing the EDID emulation, including the ID text that shows up on the source?

A: We are not aware of how to edit this product. You may want to reach out to HDFury directly for support. Tel: (201) 351-8668 contact@hdfury.com

Q: 7. Does it solve hdcp handshake problem?

A: This product does support HDCP as well. We are not aware of the specific problem you are facing, but that does support HDCP.

Q: 8. Can the GCE-3 be used without the computer? Will it retain "patches" so it can be used "live" without a computer or is this merely a hardware controller for guitar lab?

A: The GCE-3 is capable of internally storing one patch for use without a computer.

Q: 9. Will this work going from projector vga to media player hdmi?

A: No, the ATEN VC180 VGA to HDMI Converter with Audio is not bi-directional, so it can only convert a VGA input to an HDMI output. If you are needing to convert your media player's HDMI signal to VGA for your projector's input, the QVS HDMI to VGA Video Converter with Audio (BH #QVXHDVA) would work.

Q: 10. I have a DVI-D PC monitor. When I use an HDMI to DVI cable, audio is not passed because the monitor's EDID tells the device it does not support audio. Can I use this to force audio to my monitor? Maybe spoof the input device to think its a regular HDMI monitor so it passes audio. I need to pass audio because I'd like to use an HDMI audio extractor in between.

A: As others have said, DVI doesn't support audio output. This will not work for you unfortunately.

[0.9 lb] This worked fine for end devices that don't report audio to the source. Be aware that using active cables and this device on a MAC, the mac cannot supply enough power for both. In active cable and this device is no problem

[0.9 lb] This came in fairly minimal packaging. All I had to do was open the cardboard box and pick it out.

I plugged it in between my television and the computer and let it record the EDID, then I plugged it between the computer and the capture card. The Blackmagic capture card which had stymied so many of my attempts to capture a 1080p signal started working the way I wanted it to after inserting this EDID emulator into the chain.

The rotary dial, by the way, was fairly resistant to accidental nudges. IT took a bit of effort to get the dial to change its position.
