A: You can use the Heliopan 46-62mm Step-Up Ring (#177) on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens (Black). With that you will than be able to use the same filters as the ones on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 5. Is some vignetting expected when using this step up ring at wider apertures? Can vignetting be reduced by stopping down?

A: One should not expect vignetting when using the Heliopan 49-62mm Step-Up Ring (#175). The 62mm filter will be significantly wider than the 49mm lens threading and should not get into the image at all.

[0.085 lb] I've got a couple of small prime lenses that are great for shooting video. So, with a couple of inexpensive step-up rings, I can use my 67mm polarizer and variable neutral density filters to shoot wide open in sunshine. 5

[52 mm to 67 mm] I use Heliopan step up rings to fit a lot of my more specialized filters on my lenses. They never bind, and they're easy to remove and move around when I need to take them off to store them. The fit on these rings is very good, and they thread on very smoothly. 5

[52 mm to 67 mm] By using the 72-82 mm step-up ring, I can use my slim 82mm polarizer on my 24mm TS (tilt/shift) lens (72mm filter threads) and not get vignetting when the lens is shifter to its maximum. I've actually used shift and tilt together without image vignetting. This is a great set-up! 5

[Brass] Avoided reinvesting in new filter attachments when fitted the 7D with the 70-200 2.8L IS USM. The step-up ring brought the two lens together quite smoothly. 5

[0.085 lb] This step-up ring is more expensive than others, but since it is brass, it won't bind and get stuck on my lens or filter. I use a Vari ND filter, and don't want to buy 2, so this is perfect for me. 5

[52 mm to 67 mm] It's made from good materials and well machined. I've used low end reducers before and ended up with them 'bonded' to the filters. This one is easy to mount and remove without tools, beating of colorful language. I got it to fit a 77mm polarizer to a smaller lens- it works perfectly. I should have ordered and extra 77mm lens cap for use while the polarizer is mounted. 5

[Brass] I use it on my nifty fifty and my ef-s 24mm. I put a 67mm ND fader on it. You can really touch the quality. It's not a cheap metal ring. It has texture. So, it is easier to put screw in and out. Note that the smallish focus ring of the 50mm 1.8 II is hard to handle with the ring on. Autofocus will be your only solution for certain situations. That problem will not occur for other lenses (or the newest 50mm 1.8) where the focus ring is not on the very end of the lens. 5
