This 100mm f/2.8 lens features a Sony E mount, and is compatible with full-frame sensors or APS-C sensors, where it will provide a 150mm equivalent focal length.

A bright f/2.8 maximum aperture is useful for working in a variety of lighting conditions and the minimum f/32 aperture helps to attain a long depth of field when working with close-up subjects.

One high refractive index element and one extra-low dispersion element help to control chromatic aberrations and minimize distortions throughout the focusing and aperture ranges.

An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased clarity, contrast, and color fidelity.

Featuring a macro design, this lens affords a 1:1 maximum magnification ratio along with a minimum focusing distance of 1'.

Benefitting working with especially close subjects, this manual focus lens features an internal focus design to maintain the overall lens length during use. Additionally, the front filter mount does not rotate when focusing to better enable the use of polarizers, graduated ND, and other filter types that require precise positioning.

A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when using selective focus or shallow depth of field techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work with Olympus 1.4 leleconvertor on OMD-E-1 mark ll ?

A: Unfortunately no. The Olympus 1.4x teleconverter is only for a few specific Olympus lenses.

Q: 2. Is the lens so heavy that it needs a support when using with the Sony A6000? If it doesn't come with a tripod collar, so how would you support it?

A: This lens is very heavy. It does not need a support however. Usually when I shoot with this one, I hold the lens instead of the camera body (hard to explain, but the lens takes the weight, not the body.) I spite of the weight, this is a spectacular lens. The color and sharpness are vibrant. The bokeh is just the softest (even with high f stop). Worth the weight.

Q: 3. Does flexible focus point work in manual focusing on this lens with a Sony A7ii?

A: According the Sony Manual for the A7II (page 64) flexible spot is only available in autofocus mode. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/W001/W0014808M.pdf

Q: 4. Would this be compatible with a Panasonic BGH1?

A: Yes. Would make a nice and lens combo for any Panasonic GH end-user.

Q: 5. Can this lens aperture be controlled through the camera? Can you use shutter priority with it?

A: You would control the aperture on the lens not the body, however you can put the aperture ring on X and then put the camera in shutter priority or program.

Q: 6. How is the aperture controlled?Purely manually with the ring closes to the camera, or from the camera controls like a genuine Olympus lens for instance?

A: The lens has an f/stop ring and is changed manually from the lens. The f/stop ring is on the end of the lens near the camera.

Q: 7. is this lens will work with Samsung NX1 APS-C Format Mount ??

A: Yes, its available with NX1 mount as a full frame so it will work with an APS-C sensor.

Q: 8. Is this full frame lens or APS-C lens?

A: It is a full frame lens.

Q: 9. Does this work with Sony alpha nex-5n? I mounted it but it says cannot recognize lens attach it properly. Any ideas?

A: Thank you so much Lisa!!!!

Q: 10. Does this lens work with a Fujifilm XE2?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Fujifilm X is designed for Fuji Mirrorless cameras and will be compatible with the X-E2.

[f/2.8] Built quality is very good. Lens operates very well. Size, weight and balance on Fuji XT systems is great. And the best part : the lens is crazy sharp, renders colors on Fuji absolutely awesome and all is true even when handheld.

[9, Rounded] Most of what I shoot is macro using a tripod and manual settings. I don't have any use auto focus or image stabilization, and find my AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED unnecessarily big and heavy, with focus throw too short. My Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro-Planar ZF.2 (also heavy) is wonderful to use but only focuses to 1:2. The Rokinon 100mm f/2.8 Macro focuses 1:1, and otherwise fits my needs, particularly in the field. At the apertures I use its resolution compares favorably with my other macro lenses.

[f/2.8] Very easy to control with a surprisingly large focus range. All the rings rotate really smoothly and stop exactly where you want it to.

[f/2.8] I purchased this lens for my Sony A7 as I wanted a good macro lens. This lens is sharp and works well with the A7. Put the camera in aperture mode and set the ISO to what you want (do not use auto ISO) and the camera will get the correct exposure. I will also recommend a ring-light with a constant light setting for macro work.

[Manual Focus] Used the lens to do macro photography of flowers and a few insects. Manual focus ring operates smoothly. Lens can be stopped down to f/32 or wide open to f/2.8. Lens is well balanced and not very heavy. I have also used the lens for a few portraits in natural light and at widest open setting, blurred the back ground sufficiently as it should. Good lens for the money.

[Full-Frame] Completed my Rokinon prime set with this one. Used it for a shoot this weekend. Seems pretty sharp. Nice image. feels really solid too. Haven't had time to pixel peep but so far so good, and a nice savings vs the Canon L series macro.
