This 100mm f/2.8 lens features a Micro Four Thirds mount, and is compatible with Micro Four Thirds sensors where it will provide a 200mm equivalent focal length.

A bright f/2.8 maximum aperture is useful for working in a variety of lighting conditions and the minimum f/32 aperture helps to attain a long depth of field when working with close-up subjects.

One high refractive index element and one extra-low dispersion element help to control chromatic aberrations and minimize distortions throughout the focusing and aperture ranges.

An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased clarity, contrast, and color fidelity.

Featuring a macro design, this lens affords a 1:1 maximum magnification ratio along with a minimum focusing distance of 1'.

Benefitting working with especially close subjects, this manual focus lens features an internal focus design to maintain the overall lens length during use. Additionally, the front filter mount does not rotate when focusing to better enable the use of polarizers, graduated ND, and other filter types that require precise positioning.

A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when using selective focus or shallow depth of field techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Autofocus?

A: None.

Q: 2. Does this lens fit on a EOS Rebel T3i

A: The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens for Canon will be compatible with the Canon T3i, yes. Do keep in mind that this is a manual focus only lens.

Q: 3. Is this lens comptable with Sony A7RII?

A: Yes, the Samyang 100mm f/2.8 ED UMC Macro Lens for Sony E is compatible with the Sony A7RII. The lens will connect to the camera, and one can manually focus. Because their is no electronic communication, between the lens and the camera, changing f stops is manual as well. To be able to trip the shutter one must set the camera to the w/o lens setting.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with filters? If so what diameter?

A: Unfortunately, due to the round convex shape of the outer front element in the Samyang 14mm Ultra Wide-Angle f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens to assist in correcting distortion and other optical problems, the extreme convex shape prevent standard filters (or lens caps) to be used with the lens. The lens comes with an oversized lens cap for this reason, but we do not have standard filters or filter threads designed for use with the above lens.

Q: 5. Is this essentially the same lens as the Rokinon 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Sony E?

A: You are correct.

Q: 6. Will this lense work for Northern lights photography?

A: Yes, the following lens will work to capture the northern lights. Just keep in mind the following lens is all manual.

Q: 7. This Samyang 14mm it's full frame (real Fx 35mm Format)?

A: It fits a full frame sensor camera yes.

Q: 8. will focus peaking work on the Nikon D850 with this lens?

A: Yes, focus peaking should work with any lens you use on the D850 including this lens.

Q: 9. what's the difference from the Rokinon 100mm?

A: They are identical in list price and specifications. They only differ in branding and actual sale price.

Q: 10. Is the front element fixed or does it retract into the barrel when zooming as the Laowa 100mm macro does?

A: Benefitting working with especially close subjects, this manual focus lens features an internal focus design to maintain the overall lens length during use.

[1:1] I had heard on good authority that this Samyang 14mm lens was extremely good for night sky photography. It was said that it manages coma, the distortion that elongates stars into crescent shapes towards the outer edge of the frame, much better than other lenses. Do you know what? It is all true! The stars remained pinpoints throughout the frame! Remarkable! It is a totally manual lens which means that the focus and aperture are only controlled on the lens. Only the exposure is controlled via the camera body. If you can get past that rather insignificant methodological hurdle, you're home free. (Didn't everybody shoot like that in the film era?) Anyway, this is now my go-to lens for photographing the Milky Way! No question about it! And there is one more remarkable thing about this lens. Its price is one tenth of the cost of the 16-35mm lens that I was using before! Amazing!

[2.25 lb] For the money, this lens is great. It has a CPU chip in it, which means it's not problem using it with my Nikon camera - simply ensure the f-stop ring is set at f/22, install the lens, turn on the camera, and, voila, you're ready to shoot. I suppose that this lens is not the sharpest tack in the box (as it were), but it's sharp enough for me. Admittedly, I'm not a pixel peeper, but if an 11- x 17-inch print looks sharp, I'm happy. I'm very happy with this lens. I highly recommend this lens for anyone who needs a 14mm wide angle lens. For the money, it can't be beat.

[24.8°] I am a amateur photographer and was not planing to pay thousands for the shark wide angel lens. I'm happy with the quality of the images for both landscape and astrophotography.

[67 mm (Front)] I bought the Samyang 14 last summer after doing far too much research. I have wanted to take Milky Way photos for years, but didn't have the equipment or the sky. I put it on my Sony A7R3 or a trip to New Mexico to give it a try. My results were much better than I expected. Coma is minimal, focus is kind of a pain, but not complex, and the images it makes are outstanding. I am so happy with it that I bought a Sony 20mm f1.8 to go along with it.

[9, Rounded] Built quality is very good. Lens operates very well. Size, weight and balance on Fuji XT systems is great. And the best part : the lens is crazy sharp, renders colors on Fuji absolutely awesome and all is true even when handheld.

[Manual Focus] I am still getting used to it. I love the wide angle, for night it is beautiful. Aperture and focus are manual so it is a great practise. Love it.

[1:1] I purchased this lens for my Sony A7 as I wanted a good macro lens. This lens is sharp and works well with the A7. Put the camera in aperture mode and set the ISO to what you want (do not use auto ISO) and the camera will get the correct exposure. I will also recommend a ring-light with a constant light setting for macro work.
