This 82mm Cokin X-Pro 82mm Filter Holder Adapter Ringfrom Cokin X-Pro 82mm Filter Holder Adapter Ringattaches to the lens and adapts it to fit the X-Pro Series Filter Holder. Once the adapter and holder are attached, the lens filters can be slid into the holder and used accordingly.

The adapter ring is made from aluminum, which has been anodized for durability.

A: Yes, you can you a step-up ring adapter, 55-67. So, you can use the same Cokin ring for lenses that use a 55mm filter thread.

A: The Canon 14mm lens has a built-in lens hood and a bulging front element. Therefore, you won't be able to use an adapter that is designed to be screwed onto the lens such as the Cokin Z-Pro filter holder. Check out adapters that are specifically made for your lens, such as the Lee SW150 Mark II. Hope this helps.

A: There are 3 versions of this lens , all with different filter mounts. The 50mm 1:4 CFi takes Bay 70 accessories like the Cokin adapter you reference. The earlier 50mm 1:4 CF takes Bay 60 accessories, and the even earlier 50mm 1:4 C didn't use the Bay system; it accepts Series VIII accessories. So, it depends on which generation of the lens you have.

[82 mm] When considering whether to buy filters of different sizes for different lenses, I chose to go the Cokin way and buy ONE set of filters (square) and multiple adapters. Works flawlessly. It was a good choice for me. 5

[0.14 lb] Works fine although I had a metal B+W polarizer filter stick to my last one -- couldn't remove it so I had to buy this new one. Not sure if the problem was with the adapter or filter. 5

[Cokin X-Pro] There's not a lot one can say about a pretty basic adapter ring. This product is well engineered in the respect that it screws on and off easily on the two lenses that I use it on. That's all you really need with this kind of product. This is a sensible purchase for those of you using the Cokin Z series filter holder. 5

[0.14 lb] Wish the kit came with it, or a series of different size rings because the holder cannot be used without a ring to screw onto the lens. Otherwise seems to be good quality and works just fine. 5

[Cokin X-Pro] This ring is needed to use with a wide angle and the Cokin Kit. I agree with another review that it difficult to screw on and off the lens (or lens filter. It does what is intended and works well but DO NOT get it on too tight. 5

[Aluminum] I took the plunge into filters and was pleasantly surprised by this holder. It is well made and works just as I would expect it to. I found that taking off the extra slot was needed to get rid of vignetting on a Canon 16-35 when using at full wide angle. I have no need for the second filter slot. The adapter threads were nicely machined, so putting the holder on in a hurry was easy. 5
