Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it record at 24 bit?

A: The QSC TouchMix offers 16 bit recording at 44.1 or 48Khz sample rates.

Q: 2. how much does it weight ?

A: 62.6 lb / 28.4 kg

Q: 3. What is the maximum compression ratio that can be set on each input channel?

A: Subgroups and mix outputs have a parameter-adjustable limiter, with ratio adjustable from 5-100:1, that can be switched to a compressor with a 1-20:1 ratio for group compression, or even to parallel compression by double assigning channels to subgroups.

Q: 4. Is there or will there be an app for iphone?

A: At this time remote control of the QSC Touchmix-16 via the iOS app is only available for iPad and iPad mini. Unfortunately QSC has made no mention of expanding this to the iPhone at this time.

Q: 5. How do you select mic/line Hi-z inputs? I played with the 18T at my local dealer and could not find these settings in the menus.

A: The XLR inputs on channels 1-8 and XLR-1/4" inputs on channels 9-16 can be used for mic- or line-level input on the Allen & Heath CQ-18T Compact 18-Channel Digital Mixer with Touchscreen, but DI is required for Hi-Z input (instruments like a guitar and bass). Only the CQ-20T has Hi-Z inputs on channels 15-16.

Q: 6. I need Notice for QSC8touchemix in french

A: Please see the following link to the User Manual in French. http://bit.ly/21KDnP2

Q: 7. Is the Qsc Touchmix Android app Available Yet?

A: Android support is planned for the TouchMix series, unfortunately at this time still not available.

Q: 8. Does this unit include the touch screen shown in the picture?

A: Yes, the touchscreen is an integrated part of the TouchMix-16 Compact Digital Mixer. You can view all of the details for the TouchMix-16 by looking at B&H# QSTM16 which is the page for the mixer only (without the SKB case). .

Q: 9. Are the line inputs pro level +4 dBu or consumer level -10? Thanks. Really liking how this looks.

A: The Allen & Heath CQ-18T Compact 18-Channel Digital Mixer's balanced outputs are +4 dBu.

Q: 10. Can I output audio to 2 computers at the same time with this mixer?

A: The QSC TouchMix-30 Pro 32-Channel Compact Digital Mixer with Touchscreen is not capable of a USB connection with multiple computers at the same time. To send audio to multiple computers, those computers would need to be using audio interfaces capable of receiving an analog audio signal.

[HDD] I bought a second TouchMix-16 so I would have one for performance and one for practice/backup. I have been very happy with the product. This one came with firmware version 1 which needed to be updated to avoid recording problems. It is not difficult to update the firmware. I would suggest using a solid state drive for recording if you are going to travel with it because it won't require special handling.

[-86 dBu ] Ok, I wanted to give this 4 stars because I can't get used to not having physical faders. But that's just me - I'm an old curmudgeon who has been doing sound longer than most of you have been alive. In truth, the tiny, lightweight console is just the thing when you're going to have to mix from any iPad anyway. The iPad app, btw, is really very good and much more responsive than some I've used for other consoles. There's still a lag, but it's acceptable. For multi-fader mixing (which I've done for decades), it's not quite there, but it can be done. Some of the functions on the console itself are a bit obscure, and thus better on the iPad. The head-amp gain seems a bit low (needs to be nearly full on for SM57's) but I haven't tried it with truly difficult mics like an SM7b or ribbon. For those a Cloudlifter might be required. I find the gate and compressor screens to be less informative than on other console iPad apps, though I understand the theory of what they are presenting. It's software though, so it may change in the future. Kind of miss the flags for gates and compressors that were in the pre-release 3 firmware, but that's not huge.

All in all, for the price, space and weight, it's hard to go wrong. And, in case you're wondering, yeah it sounds good too. I think it is not quite as good sounding as some more expensive 16 channel mixers (A&H comes to mind), but certainly acceptable in 95% of the small gigs I do.

If you're going to operate wirelessly, I don't think you can get 16 channels in a much smaller footprint and still have a usable console. This is an advantage - to me - over those rack mount only mixers where you have to work wirelessly.

The case, btw, is just about perfect. Everything fits in comfortably and without pushing and shoving on wires, etc. I wouldn't take the console anywhere without it. Looks nice too for those who are concerned about such things.

In my opinion, if you need small and light weight, this is the only choice.

[10.4 lb] This is exactly what I was looking for, for years! We bought the QSC TouchMix-16 for our churches youth ensemble. We hooked up three mics. One for Cantor, one for flute, and one for the sax and horns. The cello and harp used their pickups. The keyboard mono output. So we had 7 inputs, which is why we bought the 20 input model. We are hoping more youth join the ensemble. We used it today for the first time. We are not experienced sound people. This unit worked like a breeze! The wifi worked perfectly and far from the mixer. We were able to adjust levels while sitting in the pews, even when the church was full. This month was the first month every instrument could be heard and we were able to blend them sweetly. I am so happy with our purchase and can't wait till next month so we can use it again. Thank you so very much QSC for making such a beautiful, portable, easy to use mixer! Thank you B and H too, because of course I had no problems ordering and receiving my mixer from you. God Bless to all!

[-86 dBu ] I have just recived this two weeks ago. The QSC touchmix is simply splended and I love useing it with my Ipad. I do live bands and I also use it in my studio. It works with Pro Tools 11 with the newest update.

[8] This is simply the best combination of price, capability and small footprint at any price. To date, I have not used it with iPad remote, which is to say that everything I've done with it involved using the physical controls on the device. At roughly the size of a 17 notebook computer, the number of channels and Aux outputs is amazing. The degree of control--EQ, compression, etc., is spectacular. The biggest downside, as is the case with larger console mixers, too, is the fact that if you're using most of the channels, you will have to toggle screens. But in real life, I've been able to do this easily enough. Mute groups can be assigned to numerous dedicated physical button mute groups. Plugging in a high-speed hard drive or bus-powered USB 3 SSD allows separate recording of all channels for virtually unlimited remixing options after a gig or if someone wanted to use this for a studio session. I found this item nearly accidentally, since QSC is not known for mixers so much as PA speakers. This item is without any direct competitor, and the quality and functionality are spectacular.

[8] I was really on the fence prior to purchasing this unit, but with the BH return policy I felt the risk was minimal. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance of this unit. Pros: -Lots of presets with reasonable setting. You are up and running with the board very quickly. -Clean menus. -Excellent responsiveness from both the touch screen and the dial control. -Very little, if any, audible noise of the board. This is comparable to other high end digital boards. - Good number of output options. - Firmware upgrade was very easy. Possible Improvements: - Podium EQ preset is not terrific. Seems to be an error in setup. - Allow the touchscreen to tilt. - Provide a locking mechanism for the XLR connector. - Provide a locking mechanism for the power cord. - Offer a longer whip on the DC side of the power brick. - Offer a locking IEC power cord going into the power transformer. - Offer a way to play an audio file from the record/playback screen. - Increase the spacing between the USB ports.
